Some resources in the deep rocks of the galaxy can be difficult to discover because they are buried in the ground or in the walls. That’s why I’ve compiled a comprehensive but easy to understand list of all the mining resources you’ll come across. There are four types of resources you will encounter: mission resources, mission resources, equipment upgrades and brewery resources.
Equipment modernisation fund
There are six different sources you can use to update your material in Deep Rock Galactic. They are spread over 8 different biomes or zones that Deep Rock Galactic currently covers. In the mission terminal you can see that each little biome contains two different sources in different rarities. Huge resources are easier to find, while some biomes and rare resources are harder to find.
Heron beads
Type: hidden in the ground
Places:
- Blasted corridors, lots of them.
- Salt mines, in abundance.
- Radioactive waste zone, Scarcet.
Enor pearls are mainly found in sandy passages and salt marshes. You can meet them in the radiation exclusion zone, but it’s much harder to find them there.
Enore’s pearls are well hidden in the ground. We need to look for areas of fine gray marble that cover the surface. Deactivating the headlight (F hold) will not increase the visibility of the area where the bead is hidden. The focus should be on digging where the small balls are close together. When you finally find Enor Pearl, you’ll have to wear a big jewel on your mule.
Bismor
Type: above ground crystals visible
Places:
- Dense bioson, surplus
- The crystal caves, Scarz.
- Salt pits, scars.
Bismor crystals are easily found on the surface of each of the three biomes in which they are found. The crystals have a cubic shape with a green-yellow colour and are covered with brown spots. The dense bioson offers the greatest opportunity to meet different Bismor crystals, but the crystal caves and salt mines also offer different possibilities.
Umanite
Type: above ground crystals visible
Places:
- Radioactive waste disposal area, Surplus
- Dense bioson, Scarcet.
- Glacial layers, Scarcet.
The Amamit is very easy to recognize because of its fine green colour and its almost columnar shape. Umamit crystals are found in abundance in the radioactive exclusion zone. Dense biosounds and ice caps offer only small quantities, but you will often notice them.
Previously
Type: hidden in the ground
Places:
- Crystalline caves, abundant
- Mushroom swamp, Scarcet.
The Former can easily be overlooked because it is hidden in the floors and walls of the crystal caves and, in smaller quantities, in the swamps of the mushrooms. You may see an area where Jadiz is hidden by a collection of small greenish shards that look like kryptonite. You need to turn off your headlight (hold down the F-button) if you want to remove a large Jadiz crystal from the ground. The closer you get to the crystal of yesteryear, the brighter the green light. We need to take the big Jadiz crystal and put it in Molly.
Coppa
Type: above ground crystals visible
Places:
- Mushroom swamps, lots of them.
- Cardiac magma, Skaresec.
Croppa crystals have a metallic-green colour with small purple dots on the surface. They are rod-shaped and usually sit on walls or ceilings. The croppus is abundant in mushroom marshes and in smaller quantities in the magma core.
Solenoid valve
Type: above ground crystals visible
Places:
- Ice caps, in abundance.
- A heart of magma in abundance
- Sandblasting halls, scarts.
The magnet is dark red with small black dots on the surface. The crystal has the shape of a pole and occurs in large quantities in the glacial layers and magma trees. The magnet can also be found in sandblasters, but in small quantities.
ERROR: //23G%/
Type: hidden in the ground
Places: All biomes
This is a very scarce resource that can be found in any biomass. It is hidden in the ground or in the walls and can be seen as an accumulation of small dark grey spines sticking out of the ground. The excavated material is a black and white cube. There are currently no engravings used for this source.
Mission resources
There are five resources in action in the deep rock of the galaxy, which can be divided into two groups. The first group shall consist of the funds which shall be converted into credits at the end of the mission. And the second group can only be used during the mission.
Gold
Type: visible vein
On the walls and ceilings of all missions gold can be found in veins. Even in poorly lit caves it is easy to recognize because it has a unique golden glow. All the gold that is mined during the mission is converted into credits, which are added to the credits you get for the mission and the secondary quest.
Compressed gold
Type: hidden in the ground
Compression is a rare variant of gold. You can find it if you’re looking for a place where you can see many small nuggets of gold on the surface. There is also a small golden glow between these nuggets when you turn off the headlight (press and hold the F-button). As you dig on the surface, you must follow the glow of the gold until you find a large gold coin. Take this gold coin to Molly to make your deposit.
Bitter
Type: hidden in the ground
Bitter gold, like pressed gold, is a rare raw material hidden in the ground, which becomes a merit at the end of a mission. But the payment for Gorky is much higher than for gold. You can detect bitterness in your surroundings looking for a group of small pink glowing stones. There is also a small pink glow in the middle. You have to dig down to the glowing middle to find a large chunk of bitterness. Just like with Jadiz or compressed gold you have to wear a mask in Bittergem to make a deposit.
Nitra
Type: visible vein
Nitra’s your ball. For every drop of ammunition and health supplies 80 nitrates are needed. You will notice Nitra’s red veins quite easily in all biomes. The average vein covers about half of what you need for stock reduction.
Red sugar
Type: above ground crystals visible
Red sugar is the gem of your health, which heals you immediately. They are bright red, about half the size of gemstones and protrude from the floor, walls and ceiling. You cannot store red sugar for later use. If you break the crystal, you automatically get the required amount of red sugar. The rest falls to the ground and can be used by anyone in need of health care.
Mission objective resources
The third group of resources are the means to achieve the objectives of the mission. Extracting or collecting these resources can be your primary or secondary goal in the deep rock of the galaxy.
Morkit
Type: visible vein
The search for morkit is usually the main task of a mountain expedition. It is a dark blue mineral with a visible light effect that is easier to discover than most other raw materials.
Aquarium
Type: hidden in the ground
Aquarque is a mineral found in open-cast mines. It is hidden in the ground, but you can easily recognize it by looking at the blue light fields surrounded by small blue crystals. The Aquarq can be seen in low light and sometimes two Aquarqs appear next to each other. The crystal itself is large, just like Jadiz’s, which needs to be transferred to a mining facility.
Foreign egg
Type: hidden in the ground
Strange eggs are part of the egg hunt. You can find each egg on a mini-card. They are easy to find, even in low light, because they are surrounded by organic material and are red-hot. As with Aquarq, you have to dig through organic material to find and extract the egg. Once you’ve found the egg, the screen flickers and you can fight off a new wave of enemies.
Gollomite
Type: above ground crystals visible
Hollomietcollection is a regular secondary objective of the missions. The crystals are stalk shaped, dark purple with small purple pieces on the surface. Gollomites stand or lie on the ground and are usually easy to spot with decent lighting.
Distribution
Type: visible vein
The extraction of dystrium is a popular secondary object in point acquisition missions. It has a visible dark blue crystal vein, but no extra charisma. It can be very difficult to detect the biomass of the ice caps.
Apoka flower
dude: Resource with visible surface
Apoca Bloom is one of three undeveloped wells in the deep rock of the galaxy. It’s Flora we have to get. They look like a cross between a flower and a palm tree. The Blossom of the Apocalypse blooms with a white glow that makes it easy to see the flower of the Apocalypse in total darkness. These streams do not necessarily grow on the ground, but can also be found on walls, ceilings or between rocks.
Flat Bulo
dude: Resource with visible surface
The Bulo cap is another untapped resource. It’s a purple mushroom to pick. They have a purple glow in the dark, making them highly visible. Just like Apaca Bloom they can be found on the ground, on walls, ceilings and between the rocks.
Fossil
dude: Resource with visible surface
The last non-metallic resource is the fossil. They look like nummulitic limestone, the body has a dark blue color on yellow limestone. The remains are difficult to find, especially in the sandblasting corridors of the biomechanism. They are usually located on walls and ceilings.
Beer sources – Hop
Hops are used as an ingredient for making beer in your Abyss bar. This beer can be used as a tonic for your next mission, or have fun side effects for everyone in the space facility.
Barley lamp
Barley bulbs are easy to recognize because they have a bright red flower. Your appearance will remind you of the headlights. Currently there are 8 different recipes that require barley onions. They’re all providing fans for the next mission.
Maltster
Maltster plants are star-shaped and have a neon green plus neon purple colour. Like all jumps, they are easy to recognize. Currently 7 recipes require one or more malt stars as an ingredient.
Starch and nuts
Pink acorns are easy to find in starchy nuts. You can find plants that contain one or more nuts. Star nuts are an essential part of 7 brewery recipes.
Yeast cone
Yeast cones look like classic miniature street lamps with light blue lamps. Just like the other jumps they are easy to recognize. There are 6 recipes that use yeast cones as an ingredient.
