It seems that as we approach the end of this generation of consoles, we will see many more
cyberpunk games. That’s great, because there’s so much to do with this
theme, and it seems we’ve barely scratched the surface of the stories we can tell with
video games. Here we have Ghostrunner, a dynamic first-person action platform where you have to move to the next neighborhood or die every time you look at the world around you. In the end,
will kill you many, many, many times.
The game is just to keep moving, because a bullet can kill you. Nothing’s changed. If you look around, you’ll see a screen that tells you you’re dead. If a
attack can kill you, so can your enemies. One cut, and they’re dead. This works well in
for areas where you can die multiple times, but in
, start looking for sneaky ways around the enemies to get some easy deaths.
The beginning was an obstacle. The camera seemed very free, and when I set it up, it made things a bit more problematic
because I had to see my next areas to get ahead, otherwise I would have been killed.
Either it was too fast so I couldn’t catch what I needed to see, or it was too slow and I missed my
jumps or was shot by a stray enemy. After more games the camera speed was much higher than
, but it took a long time to get used to it.
The drawing of the stairs shows yellow signs as a passage, but it turns out that this is not the only passage
. For example, a hanging wall can be striped yellow so you can run
towards the enemy, but you can also jump on a shield to run towards the wall and get the best
attack on the enemy. It was a bad move, but it worked and it kept working. If I would press quickly in times of high pressure, I would notice that I am doing something to prevent attacks or bribes.
There are a lot of games for the challenge seekers who want to see how fast they can reach level
and how many deaths they have. The plot is normal, but seems a bit
predictable given the number of movies and other games with a similar story. This
was a disappointment because I was hoping for a really well written cyber-punk story.
Ghostrunner was not what I had hoped for, and that clouded my experience a bit. In social networks,
was marked with a preview mentioning the disadvantaged, but there was a feeling that these comparisons did not even come close to what Ghostrunner turned out to be in
. Although death is not a great punishment because of
‘s very forgiving control system, the gate will activate if you find yourself in a situation where
is killed just because enemies have secretly shot at you. Although I’ve felt useful in other games by overcoming difficult obstacles, I haven’t felt any of that. The joy I had was that Ichhnie had to make a new experience at this level.
