Sony Is Clearly Not Slowing Down

Sony Is Clearly Not Slowing Down

Essentially, Sony is telling everyone to “relax, we’ve got you covered.” After massive game launches, such as “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach” and “Ghost of Yotei,” rest assured that PlayStation is not resting on these laurels. No, sir. They followed up with an overly impressive embargo, announcing 18 upcoming games on their blog, titled “Blog Us.” And nope, it’s not hyperbole when I say that it is stacked. And if you’re into more than just sports betting on the 20Bet —if you’re also a fan of esports and video games—then after landing a couple of good bets, take some time to catch up on what’s new in the world of gaming technology.

Action, RPGs, horror, cozy games, hardcore stuff, experimental ideas… It’s all here. Quite literally, it’s not a random selection. It’s like Sony decided to look at all different types of gamers out there, all different types of interests, and go, “Okay, what would get you excited?”

The Heavy Hitters Everyone’s Talking About

Alright, let’s tackle the obvious hype first. Yes, naturally, Resident Evil Requiem is a big deal and everyone is hyped about it. The return of Leon S. Kennedy is enough to ensure there is fanboy/fangirl excitement about this game from the start. It promises to have creepy environments to fight through and a healthy dose of scares, as well as frantic combat, and generally a nice end-of-the-day feeling of never feeling relaxed enough, as this is a classic Resident Evil – and yes, it is on a lot of people’s calendars as it is to come out on 27

Then there is the Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, out on March 12. Far from being “another horror game,” FF is an at-times agonizingly slow game in which fear seeps into your pores rather than having it in your face.

Capcom Is on a Roll

Capcom is having an awesome time in recent years, and you can really see it happening. Along with Resident Evil, they have finally announced a release date for Pragmata – April 24th, 2026. Bottlenecked is an understatement for this one, as people were just really curious about it until it actually became real.

Shooters, Spies, and Big Dreams

Capcom, of course, isn’t the only one bringing heat, as Bungie Studios is set to return in March of 2026 with a new installment of Marathon. This, of course, isn’t just a remake but more of a modern retelling of what we know to be one of, if not, one of the greatest ideas ever put into video game form. Will it succeed? Well, that’s hard to say,

And then there is 007 First Light from IO Interactive, which is the studio behind Hitman. The game is about young James Bond, long before he became a legend known globally. It is less about “super spy fantasy” and more about “origin story” and comes out on May 27, 2026. It actually sounds way more promising than other usual licensed games.

For Players Who Like it Hard (The Good Way)

If you love games that don’t take it easy on you, then Sony has got you covered. *Nioh 3* is coming out on February 6, 2026, and it certainly looks the part when it comes to the series’ tradition of not coddling players. Not an easy game by any stretch, but then again, not the point.

Right before that, on Jan 30, Code Vein II is coming out, and with its anime art style, dramatic characters, and souls-esque difficulty. So, if you enjoyed the first one, then this game has likely been on your radar all this time anyway.

JRPG Fans, You’re Eating Well Too

Fans of JRPG‘s will not be left in the dark, either. Dragon Quest VII Reimagined has a February 5, 2026, launch date. The story is one that is classic in its field but revised enough to keep it less like homework and more like a game you want to get lost in.

Saros Might Be the Surprise Star

“Based on preliminary

One of the most intriguing titles on this list is Saros from the studio behind Returnal, and it’s coming on April 30, 2026. It’s a fast-paced shooter type game and is meant to show off the power and potential of the PS5, but it seems to have a lot to live up to if this developer is involved, based on how well they have done with Returnal.

Cozy Games, Weird Ideas, and Everything In Between

Only some of these games will actually involve stress and explosions, however. Coffee Talk in Tokyo will offer some chilled-out gameplay, while experiments like Tides of Tomorrow and Never Grave exist too. And of course, if you want a large open-world game, Crimson Desert is still developing into that.

In other words, irrespective of your mood, there might be something in the list for you.

And This Isn’t Even the Full Picture

The craziest thing? The list above is probably not even complete yet. Upcoming in January, Xbox has its Developer Direct, where we’re expecting the announcement of the release date of the upcoming Forza Horizon game. There are many other games surely coming, and 2026 is looking crazy so far.

Bottom line: PlayStation’s forthcoming lineup isn’t just “good on paper.” It feels solid, diverse, and actually exciting. If you’ve got a PS5 – or you’re thinking of getting one – then next year looks like it could be an excellent time to be a gamer.
