Play the role of the sitting goose, waddling menacingly around town, thwarting signature tasks like Catch the Boy in the Phone Booth or Wet the Gardener. Whoever wrote this would be proud of Satan.
September and October are big months for Nintendo Switch owners. AAA games like Dragon Quest XI and Link’s Awakening, which released last month, certainly have a lot of you clinging to your Joy-Cons. The big release of this month will undoubtedly be Luigi’s Mansion 3, but I’m here to tell you not to sleep on Untitled Goose Game because it requires the attention of the entire world.
It’s been a long time since I played a game that made me laugh and smile the whole time. This title is full of charm and creativity, forcing the player to play the role of dirtiest bird. The Untitled Goose Game is a decent puzzle game in a small sandbox. Each zone has different tasks that the player must complete before moving on to the next zone. Most tasks can be done in different ways, so each player’s game is different from the others.
Reminiscent of other stealth games like Metal Gear Solid, where sneaking around is the name of the game, the Goose must use its detective skills to steal objects without being spotted by unsuspecting people, only to be caught by a look that says : But you might suspect me – the goose – to be the one who would plant his rake in the lake?
That goose is a real jerk, but that’s what makes him so friendly. We’d all like to have fun with the gardener who tries to do his job – so much so that he questions his own sanity – without consequence, only to move on to the next unfortunate victim. The game is so liberating.
The gameplay of Untitled Goose is unfortunately exceptionally short, and many players can accomplish all of the game’s objectives in about three hours. There are still a few quests that will be unlocked at the end, but it would be nice to have more areas and people to work with, considering how much fun the game is. Although some missions took me off the beaten path and there are a lot of clever little puzzles in the story.
The presentation of the game is particularly charming and full of vitality, underlined by a beautiful piano soundtrack. Piano melodies get faster and livelier the closer you get. That’s amazing. There is a minimalist approach to character design that works very well.
Untitled Goose is truly a game that belongs in every Nintendo Switch owner’s library. In video games we have many opportunities to become superheroes, gods, monsters, and now we have the chance to become something incredibly liberating, namely a lowly goose. While there are many Switch games out there, I can’t recommend this one because it’s original and very charming. It may be short, but you’ll never stop laughing and smiling at the mischievous little geese.

Final thoughts : EXAMPLES
I give the game Untitled Goose 9 out of 10 possible points for its originality and charm. This is the best goose game I’ve ever played, so don’t forget to waddle over to the online store and get your hands on this instant classic.
Tony has been playing since he could walk. Pokémon Blue Version helped him learn to read. His greatest achievement is not only that he has played the entire Kingdom Hearts series, but that he has understood it.
