Want to set up the ultimate console gaming room? This guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to setup the ultimate console gaming room. We will also provide advice on what to get, and what to avoid. Should you get a new television? Should you get a new controller? Should you get a new foot shooter? We will provide great advice for all aspects of setting up your gaming room.
Setting up the ultimate console gaming room can be a monumental task. It doesn’t matter if you’re an old-school gamer or a newbie, you’ve got to have your consoles, controllers, and accessories in order in order for your room to look great.
If you’re like us at Varsity Gaming then we know you’re not just a PC gamer. You want to be the guy that has an Xbox, PS4, Wii U, or Nintendo Switch console in his gaming room, right? What better way to do that than to setup a custom gaming room?
As an avid gamer, you’ll eventually want to set up the right room to get the most out of your console and enjoy the superior acoustics and graphics that have become an integral part of modern gaming.
Designing a playroom doesn’t have to be final, but like many other areas in life, you need to plan ahead and buy materials that complement and fit the space you have.
If you’re considering investing in your own playroom, here are some tips and ideas for creating the perfect space.
Consider the space you have available first
No need to buy a big screen if you have limited space. Even with today’s high-definition TVs, sitting too close to a large screen detracts from the overall experience. While pixel issues are less likely, you’ll still miss important details and moments of action, and you may even experience eye strain.
Common screen wisdom suggests the following formula to try to determine the optimal screen size for the available space:
Viewing distance (in inches)/2 = optimal TV size
For example, if you are sitting 3 feet (or 120 inches) from the TV, you should divide this number by two to get the correct screen size, which is 60 inches.
Also keep in mind that room size has a significant impact on the sound quality your system can achieve. If the room is too large, the sound will echo or seem lost; if the room is too small, you will likely have trouble getting the full benefit of the surround sound features.
Finally, the size of the room will determine whether there is room for other necessary items, such as a play chair, steering wheel, pedals for driving games, golf sim enclosure, etc.
Select the speaker system carefully
Modern game design has pushed the boundaries of surround sound quality and music/sound effects in games. So you need to think carefully about the configuration of your speakers.
Sound becomes such an important element in game design that if you don’t use high-quality speakers, you can miss out on more immersive gameplay elements. Therefore, you should look for systems that support 5.1 or higher channels.
Also, think carefully about where you place your speakers in relation to the acoustics of your room to get the best, most beautiful sound possible.
Investing in an adapted play chair
Sure, you can use an old kitchen chair or a pocket chair for gaming, but what’s the point of comparing a simple chair to the advanced features of modern gaming chairs?
Not only are gaming chairs more comfortable, but they also provide the lumbar support needed for long night gaming sessions. With a specially designed chair, you can prevent back problems later and play comfortably for longer.
Additionally, many of today’s seats have additional speakers built into the headrest, further enhancing the sound capabilities of your gaming system.
Buy a mini-fridge and store energy drinks/food in it
If you want to maintain your concentration during long gaming sessions, you need to build up your energy level regularly. Instead of going to the fridge regularly and taking a break, buy a mini slow-cooker and make energy drinks and snacks like… B. Provide supplements for command game.
Consider soundproofing your playroom
Soundproofing your game room dampens and softens the sounds reflected from traditional walls, creating a more realistic soundscape. Even if you want to turn up the volume on your next Call of Duty game to 11, it’s unlikely the rest of the family will want to join in with your antics.
If you want the best results, you should hire a professional muffler shop, but there are also some improvements you can make yourself if it’s out of your budget:
Don’t just think about soundproofing the walls: The sound in your playroom moves 360 degrees, so in addition to the walls, you should also dampen the ceiling and floor. This also improves the overall sound quality.
Use other sound absorbing materials to reduce installation costs: Thick carpets, thick curtains or thermal insulation materials can be used as effective (but cheap) soundproofing materials. Also, remember to maintain a distance between the speakers and the surrounding walls to reduce the risk of unwanted sound leaks.
If you need the maximum screen size, consider purchasing aprojector.
There are even monstrously sized TVs available today, but these models come with an equally monstrous price tag that you may not be able to afford. If you’re looking for a relatively inexpensive way to get a large screen, consider investing in a projector.
Projector technology has improved significantly in recent years. While projectors used to offer lower image quality than TV screens, new projectors are now available with 4K and 8K resolution.
When you have chosen your TV, buy a high quality stand or wall bracket
After you’ve put so much time and effort into your best gaming system, you don’t want your TV sitting on the floor or on a rickety old table. Instead, invest in a high-quality wall bracket to hide cables and wires – or buy a dedicated bracket or device.
As a general rule, the TV should be at eye level to make the viewing experience as comfortable as possible – depending on the gaming chair you’ve already purchased! Not only does your setup look better and more professional, but it also makes playing easier, more comfortable and more enjoyable.
