The last few months have been pretty rough for Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts, the two companies behind the wildly popular battle royale game Apex Legends. Over the past few weeks, hackers have been taking aim at Apex Legends, with a DDoS attack on the game’s official Twitter page, and another one on the game’s official subreddit. However, the damage was minimal compared to the game’s previous problems.
Apex Legends is a battle royale game made by Respawn Entertainment, who also created the Call of Duty and Auto Assault series. Apex Legends is a pretty big success for Respawn Entertainment, as the game has reached over 30 million players in just a couple of months since the game’s launch.
Respawn Entertainment is a video game developer that has produced two critically acclaimed and commercially successful video game franchises in their Titanfall and Apex Legends series. The Apex Legends were introduced in 2017 by Respawn after EA’s Titanfall series was abruptly shut down, but the Titanfall brand has been marred by years of hacks, DDoS attacks, and abuse. Despite the issues, Respawn is still willing to publish Apex, despite being aware of the issues with the game.

For more than two years, Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall and Titanfall 2 have been plagued by DDoS attacks and hacks that prevent you from playing the popular sword-fighting game, and a growing number of fans are fed up. The frustration over not being able to play in a Titanfall game seems to have reached unprecedented heights, now that hackers have reportedly targeted Apex Legends, EA and Respawn’s free-to-play battle royale shooter, to get their message across. According to screenshots shared by Apex Legends News, at least one hacker is hijacking playlists from Apex Legends with messages redirecting players to the Save Titanfall site and asking EA and Respawn to fix the completely unplayable game. The hacker also accused EA of continuing to sell games that don’t work as advertised.

Respawn and Electronic Arts have the resources to fix these problems, but they don’t and knowingly continue to sell a game that doesn’t work as advertised and doesn’t work at all. Every year, Respawn celebrates the anniversary of Titanfall 1 by thanking its customers for their support. Nowhere in the Origin or Steam store listings does it say the game is unplayable, and from the comments it seems many have suffered the same fate by buying an unplayable game.
