After examining the reasons for the longer wait for North American players and the instances in which they are not up to it, we will summarize the matches for our U.S. regions. This only works if players on both sides have good pings, and our simulations have shown that we can make better games faster this way. If you don’t experience it, let us know!
Since then I can’t play on the server in the western United States where I get 180-190 pings. Instead, every game I’ve tried has led me to a US central server where I get 230-240 pings.
After this patch, I played about 50 games to get to the Western server, and each time I ended up on the US central server. The only time I ended up on the Western US server was when I had DC and the game had a bug and put a group of 3 Australian players, who all have their preferred server configuration in Australia, on the Western US server. This is a bug that has been around forever, as anyone who plays in the Americas game region can attest, but mainly on their own sub-regional server.
I tried modifying my site’s file to solve the problem by making it think it’s sending 999 ping to the pile of shit that is ORD1, but it doesn’t work.
This is what a new site file looks like:
protected by email]:202.161 IN_GAME_SA1= [protected by email]:202.161 IN_GAME_SG1= [protected by email]:202.161 IN_GAME_US8= [protected by email]:202.161 IN_GAME_ORD1= [email protected]:202.161 IN_GAME_AU1= [email protected]:202.161 IN_GAME_AU1= [email protected]:202.161
As you can see, I am receiving 391 pings on the Brazilian server, 94 pings on the Singaporean server, 188 pings on the Western American server, 235 on the central American server and 16 on my local (Australian) server.
As the most obvious thing to prove what I can get, I went to make a custom game with a set of favorite servers for each server, I have all the servers I have managed to mount, and here are the results :
protected email]:202,161, [protected email]:202,161 [protected email]:202,161 [protected email]:202,161 [protected email]:202,161161 [protected email]:202.161, [protected email]:202.161 IN_GAME_US8= [protected email]:202.161, [protected email]:202.161, [protected email]:202.161 [protected email]:202.161 [protected email]:202.161
And then these pings,
, as seen correctly from Inheim:
http://server.digimetriq.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Blizzard-the-server-bundling-for-the-United-States-servers-is.png, appears in the game after you wait for the game to reach the 1 minute mark, so the average is actually accurate.
To make matters worse, in the Preferred Server option, the game actually shows me a delay on US8 and not on ORD1, even though I can’t play it.
And if you say you only queue on the local server, I invite you to try queuing on the Australian server to see how it works for you. I’ve tried since I wrote this post, I had a 30 minute queue that ended with a player being AFC during the draft, so I had to redo the queue, which was another 38~min queue (which then showed AI Tyrande on my team for all but the first 2 minutes and an enemy of the Sylvanas feeding like it was his day job), which was then followed by another queue that took 80~min to get in, all on a Saturday afternoon.
2020 will satisfy both classic and modern players. To be included in the list, the game must be confirmed for 2020, or there must be a compelling reason to publish it in that year. Therefore, upcoming games with a simple announcement and no major release date will not be considered.
By 2020, there will be a ton in the world of video games. Here are fifteen games waiting for you in the first half of 2020.
