Field of Glory 2: Medieval – Swords and Scimitars DLC

Field of Glory 2: Medieval brings the ancient sword and shield combat of the Middle Ages alive, bringing you the experience of medieval warfare under the rule of chivalry. In Medieval 2, players lead their armies of knights, mounted archers and swordsmen in tactical combat against the enemy.

The second DLC for Field of Glory II: Medieval, the Swords and Scimitars DLC adds new factions, new units, and more! From the Kingdom of Scotland and Wales to the Ottoman Empire and Zande Empire, these new factions bring their own unique units, technologies, and quests to Field of Glory II.

The DLC includes four new historical campaigns centered around characters like Alexios Comnenos, Manuel Comnenos, and Saladin, as well as the First Crusade, an event that changed not only the times, but history itself.

Included are 8 new historical scenarios exploring the following battles: Mancikert (1071), Doriley (1097), Ascalon (1099), Sirmium (1167), Arsuf (1191), La Forbie (1244), Homs (1281) and (Kili 1299).

Field of Glory 2 will also feature 20 new nations: Medieval Times after the release of the Swords and Skimitars DLC. Here is the list provided by the publisher:

  • Arabs (Syria/Iraq)
  • Armenian (Cilician)
  • Bulgarians
  • Byzantines (the main empire, but also Nikaya, Epirus and Trebizond)
  • Cross
  • Cypriots (Kingdom of Lusignan)
  • Dailami
  • Fatimid Egyptians
  • Georgian
  • Ghaznevides
  • Gurids
  • Indians (Rajputs, other Hindus, Muslims)
  • Khwarazmian
  • The Latin States in Greece
  • Egyptian Camels
  • Mongols (Ilkhanides)
  • Pechenega
  • Seljuk
  • Serbs
  • Syrian States

Of course, this also means that we’re getting 35 new units, 11 of which are brand new and 24 are making their first appearance in Medieval.

An additional list of armies completes the list of features in DLC 41. allows you to create historically realistic armies for each of the above factions and their allies during different time periods. The new army lists can be used in sandbox and custom time warp battles.

Field of Glory 2 : Medieval – Swords and Scimitars has no release date yet.
