One of the most popular games on the indie RPG scene is Genshin Impact. In this game, players take on the role of one of six characters and must stop their entire population from being wiped out by a terrible curse. The game is set in the Broken Isles, a mysterious island full of ancient ruins and…that’s about it. What’s the island’s purpose, or what does it even mean? It’s up to the player to solve the mystery. The game has been shortened to 1.5 hours of gameplay, with 6-8 hours of cut content, and it takes up to 2 hours to solve the mystery.
I just finished the Broken Isle puzzle, but I have no idea of what to do next! I kept getting the same message: “The solution has yet to be found. Continue to search for more clues.” Well, I couldn’t find any new hints, so I did what any self-respecting puzzle-solver would do… I Googled it! Turns out, this isn’t a new glitch, and it’s been around for a long time. The solution is simple—it’s just a matter of figuring out the right combination of numbers.
I’ve spent most of my time in KotB working on the real-time (RT) version of the solution for this puzzle. I’ve got some info on how the behavior works, but I’m not 100% sure about all the details. The next chapter of Genshin Impact has arrived, and the archipelago of golden apples has unlocked a whole new territory. Sea levels have dropped around the new area, and there are new secrets to discover. One of these puzzles involves using the new Windsegen Harpastum gadget to open a hidden cave. We have put together this guide to give you the solution to the Genshin Impact Broken Isle puzzle, with complete solutions to successfully solve this puzzle. Before doing this puzzle, you must first complete the main quest required to access the final section of the Golden Apple Archipelago, which contains a new future boss platform in the central part of the map.Genshin Impact Broken Isle puzzle solution
- Go to the broken island and find the mysterious painted stone.
- Equip the Windblown Harpastum and destroy the rock.
- Enter the cave and take a picture of the mural.
- Adjustment of water level in five ponds
- Walk on the five stone pillars in the correct order.
Destroy the rock with Arphastum blessed by the wind
First, take the blessed Harpastum gadget out of your pocket. Then, teleport to the Broken Isle point and head west. You will come across a painting on a rock, which you must destroy with the gadget. Then use Z to activate the Windsea Harpastum and press E to drop the bomb. It can be quite confusing, but think of harpastum as an inflatable balloon. Bounce against the wall until it’s destroyed.

Enter the cave and you’ll see a picture on the wall. Stand close to him and examine the wall. Then take a picture of the drawings in photo mode. The image shows the water levels of five different ponds on the map: Northwest Pond, West Pond, Central Pond, East Pond, Northeast Pond. You must adjust the water level by visiting these areas and interacting with different objects.

Each pool contains three water level markers. You can play with the stones next to each pond to change the water level. Make sure they all match the artwork on the wall.
North West Pond
The northwest pond should be half full.
Western Pond
The western basin must be completely filled. Maybe it’s already filled out, in which case you don’t need to do anything.
Central pond
The central pool should be at the lowest point.
East Pond
The east pond should be half full.
North-eastern pond
The northeastern basin should be at its lowest point. If you don’t know how to drain the pond, watch for crumbling rocks above the pond. Destroy the rocks that block the water flow, and the pond will fill up.
Pole sequence
Finally, from the Broken Isle teleportation point, walk north until you find five pillars and rocks. To solve the puzzle of the broken island in front of the poles, you have to walk over the rocks in the following order:
- South
- West
- Northeast
- Northwest
- East
If you complete this step successfully, three chests will appear.
