Today we received a lot of details about the new gaming platform that will soon be implemented in the first Stadia Connect stadium. In anticipation of E3, we have taken a first look at the upcoming features, games and prices at Google Stadium, which have all been put together for you here on this page.
It’s really a game-like service with everything on Google’s platform, and as a player all you need is the controller, the screen and access to the Internet. The service will arrive in November 2019.

Features of Google Stadium

The most important characteristics of Google Stadium are that it is no more than what it is. It’s not a console at all, it’s actually a game as a streaming service.
So in many ways, it’s a kind of Google version of PlayStation Now.
But given Google’s enormous technical capabilities, I see that Google is keeping its promise. During the broadcast, they confirmed that even a 35MBPS connection can provide a full 4K game experience in HDR, 60FPS and Dolby Surround.
It’s not so bad, even if you have to pay for the four kilometres. More information on this subject can be found at the bottom of the page.
On the other hand, for those who have a weak internet connection. With Stages you get a decent gaming experience in 720p with 60FPS stereo sound at only 10MBPS, which is perfectly normal.

Control
Although you can use any stage-compatible controller, Google has made a very good controller to run the service.
Stadiums work best with a stadium controller.

It allows you to share your images at the touch of a button, although their exact operation is not described in detail. You also have access to a Google Assistant during the game.
It’s pretty neat and the founder’s edition is available in an exclusive midnight blue color if you pre-order it quickly.
Sounds nice. Let’s face it, gambling isn’t something you can really feel when you’re selling something. It gives the bag, as it is, something more physical.

The philosophy of Google Stadium is to play everywhere, and all this thanks to Google’s computing power. All of this is in the data center, not on the device you are using.
The most important feature that needs to be removed is that there is no installation, no update and no management disk. Log in and play.
Televisions equipped with Chromecast Ultra (part of the founding edition) have access to the Stadia service. You can also do it from any computer or tablet using Chrome.
Google’s mobile phones, Pixel 3 and 3a, will be the first to use the Stadia application to stream data to them, but they promise that other phones will be available soon.
Although I wish they would take care of themselves first, I don’t think Samsung and Apple will wait too long.
Google StadiumPrice
It’s pretty simple here. You can buy the Founder’s edition for either £119 or £129, depending on your currency.
Here you get an exclusive controller, Chromecast Ultra, 3 months Stadium Pro (more information coming soon), an exclusive stadium name and a friendship pass.
Admission to the stadium is free, but you can pay Pro for £8.99/$9.99 Only Pro software offers 4K and surround sound. In addition, you will receive free games that are regularly released from Destiny 2 : Collection.
You will also receive pro-discounts on the purchase of games. But without the Pro Plan, you can just buy a game and play it in HD via applications or browsers.
Initially it is only available in 14 countries, but it will certainly grow rapidly.

Google Stadiumgames
After all, it’s the cause that counts: the games! Stadia is building a strong distribution, and during the event I noticed that there are many more logos for developers and publishers that have not yet been confirmed.
Since Google is so powerful that I can see most of the games on the service.
The largest is the Ghost Recon Breakpoint, which looks great and is suitable for 4K games. It’s also an interesting name for Gylt.

It was, I think, a solid set of games to show games that people probably already have on other systems, so it feels a little flat.
But will all this be saved for E3, where it will be announced for the upcoming headlines arriving at the stadiums in regular cars? We’ll know soon enough!
There are already some great titles confirmed by the new Baldur’s Gate 3 [info], as well as the upcoming Doom Eternal and the new Darksiders Genesis. It’s not so bad to start with.
The Destiny 2 comes with a cross save format, although the PlayStation only picked it out at the last minute. This means that if you already have the game in a format, you can use Stages to make a few beeps while you’re away from the console.
Hopefully other games will have this feature.

Reflections on the exhibition
A 30-minute video that shows the features and games of Stages.
There are some things you might like about Google Stadia. It’s easy to jump, let’s be negative about something new. But I think it might be a good favor.
I’m not sure it’s as revolutionary as we think. Especially if the PlayStation has a similar service. But with PS Now, is Google just taking advantage of its mistakes?
I find this very useful for those who want to play PC games, but don’t want to spend a lot of money to upgrade these processors and graphics cards. This also seems like a good idea for smartphone games.
Cross-motion is a good idea, I hope there is also cross-motion for multiplayer games. There’s more promise than trouble right now, even if it’s not exactly a NOW jumping and pre-order show.
It will be interesting to see how many stages E3 talks to, but of course there is also something to see.
