Turn the scrum block into a hold action like in FO3/NVF, this makes the block viable again because you don’t have to trust your internet connection to catch the right moment. In addition, this is called blocking, not parry, and the blocking system currently works as a parry. If holding down a block that causes a tumble seems too powerful, it can be corrected so that clicking on the action causes a parry that can tumble, like now, but holding down the button causes a block that only increases the damage resistance while holding down the button. This way, if you can’t parry because of inconsistent connections, you’ll at least get a reduction in damage, reducing the chance of just spamming your attack until your opponent is dead. I think that would be very useful for the game, because it makes melee battles more fun.
As for the staggering, I’ve been saying it since Fallout 4, and I’m saying it again, the third person needs to be repaired! You are beaten in the third person and effectively lose control of your character, while you retain some control in the first person. Throwing grenades, heavy weapon rotation and reloading weapons are all cancelled in the third person if you get hit in melee. It wasn’t done in the first person. You can’t sprint and then squat with your rifle pulled in the third person, it works fine without a rifle pulled for some reason, but not with a gun. Why is that? It works very well in the first person. If you have a paralyzed limb, your camera freezes and you can’t do anything for the duration of the animation, and sometimes your camera turns in a completely random direction. All these things are bugs, not characteristics. This makes the third person less desirable in many cases, which is a pity because many people really enjoy playing in the third person. After all, we spend years making sure our characters are exactly the way we want them to be, and our atoms on all kinds of clothes and stuff. Make it as viable as the first person.
Separate the attack and grenade keypad and make the weapon control wheel optional on the PC. I’ll keep repeating it until that happens, you have to, even if you’re on the console, we could really use the voice of the community to make that happen. If you’re at the console and don’t understand why this is an important topic, this is what you need to know: Most game mice have built-in triggers on either side of the scroll wheel, so a single press on the scroll wheel opens the in-game weapon wheel. Because the programming treats the gun wheel as a menu instead of something special, it rotates the mouse pointer on the screen and disables the ability to move or fire the camera. Although it’s open, it doesn’t make these things unbearably annoying, it also doesn’t close unless you click on the tab – which usually means there’s a panicky tab in the middle of the fight, so you look at the Pipsqueak screen after closing the gun wheel, because you’re used to slowing down menus and spamming buttons. Like many others I tried to disable the scroll wheel and all its trigger buttons, but it’s so annoying to drag the menu cursor over the pipboy, and you have to turn it back on while the C.A.M.P. builds up. Help the PC community and push them, we asked for it from the beginning!
Solve a bug that sometimes causes your character to get stuck in the DDA, it’s quite annoying and has been for a long time. The fact that we start ignoring mistakes doesn’t mean that they aren’t there and that we don’t get upset, but it just means that we have too many other frustrations to get upset. Fix this bug and I’ll give you a thumb and a heart.
And not related to this post, here is a picture of my C.A.M.P., just because you deserve to read my Rant:
