Now that the year 2020 is over, we are looking forward to the year 2021 to see this year’s best races. The past year has been a chaotic year for the developers, with many having to postpone their launch until 2021. This means that we should at least have a choice between some great games, including some long-awaited titles such as Halo Infinite, Hitman 3 and Hollow Knight : Silk Song and more.
Let’s take a look at some of the best game releases for 2021. Games with a release date listed first. Other games that are expected to be released next year, but do not have a specific date yet, will be announced at a later date.
January
Hitman 3 is the final and dramatic finale of the Murder World trilogy. You play as Agent 47, the ruthless Hitman from previous games, and your progress since Hitman 2 can continue. The game contains 6 new locations and all locations of the 2 previous games can be imported into Hitman 3.
The Medium – Discover this psychological horror game from the Bloober team by solving a dark mystery. You travel between worlds and solve the mysteries of double reality. The protagonist, Marianne, has psychic abilities that help her to see and deal with the hostile inhabitants of the spirit realm. You can recharge your psychic abilities in spiritual wells.

Werewolf: Apokolipsis – Earth Blood – In this RPG adventure game inspired by the original werewolf, you take 3 forms: Role-playing apocalypse. In wolf form you can sneak in unnoticed, in human form you can interact with other people and in werewolf form you have the ability to tear your enemies apart.
Nioh 2 is an action role-playing game of the Ninja Team. Create your own hero and hordes of Yokai with different weapons. At certain times, you can call on other players to help you in battle. It also features a three player share mode.
Little Nightmares 2 – The nightmares continue in this exciting adventure game from Tarsier Studios. This time you play Mono, a boy about to discover the secrets of a dark signal tower that distorts the world around him. Along the way you will meet Six, who will help you thwart the many scary creatures of this sinister world.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake – This classic game has been redesigned with brand new film footage, parkour animation, sound effects and a new soundtrack. You master the sands of time by freezing, accelerating and slowing down time itself. The camera control and the battles have been updated to modern game standards.
It Takes Two is a game for two in which you work your way through a fantasy world together. A spell turned you into a doll. They have to find a way to help each other, to overcome obstacles and challenges and find a way to turn the curse. You can play on a single console/computer with a split screen or online.
April
Deny Replicant – This game was previously only released in Japan for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but has been remastered and will be released worldwide for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2021. You play a nice young man who lives in a remote village and embarks on a journey to save his sister from a strange illness. It features an enchanting soundtrack, a unique swordplay and customizable characters.
Humankind – A historic 4x game that is considered a competitor of the Civ series. It combines the culture, history and human values of 60 cultures, so you can rewrite the history of mankind. You will fight on land, in the air and at sea, and bring your civilization to new heights.
Games without release date
Age of Empires 4 – After the final release of AoE3 in October 2020, AoE4 is expected to be released sometime next year. For the time being it seems that it will be released exclusively for Windows 10. It has new civilizations, but less than previous games. Developers want to focus on creating a unique character for each civilization, not quantity. The graphics will be improved, you will be able to build siege weapons, control walls and outposts.
The lump in my throat: The Delicious Last Course – This DLC for the original game gives you a brand new island to explore and a new character, Miss Calice. It was originally planned to be published in 2019, but due to delays and constraints its development has been delayed by two years. It will be available for PC, Xbox One, Switch and PlayStation 4.
Far Cry 6 – The sixth episode of the series takes place on a fictional Caribbean island called Yara. You play a guerrilla who tries to overthrow a dictator and restore the freedom of the country. The Far Cry series looks a bit cheesy since Far Cry 3. Let’s see if UbiSoft can upgrade this last episode.
Gotham Knights – Gotham City with four playable characters : Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and Red Hood. Batman is dead, and it is up to the four heroes to defeat the underworld in this RPG action. Each character has its own capabilities and style of play. It can be played in single-player or two-player mode.
Halo Infinite – The legendary Halo series is back with Halo Infinite. You play the role of the Master Chief, the hero of mankind, and you face the most dangerous enemy there is. Although it’s not a purely open world, entire parts of the ring open up in the final hours of the game, allowing you to explore large areas at the same time. It will be available for PCs, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Legacy of Hogwarts is an action RPG set in the fantasy world of the Harry Potter books in the 1800s. You’ll be at the center of your own adventure as you learn spells, forge drinks and fight fantastic beasts.
Empty knight: Silksong is the long awaited sequel to the original game. You’ll explore a brand new kingdom and play the role of a hornet as you climb to the top of the magnificent citadel. There are over 150 new enemies and a brilliant orchestral score.
Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga – There are about 500 characters involved, and many of them will be available to play. You can start with one of the 9 episodes of the Skywalker saga, each with 5 missions. Unlike previous games, there is no central platform, instead you have explored planets in depth. You can visit Coruscant, Naboo, Kashyyyk, Hoth, Dagobah, Endor, Tatooine and many others.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum – Play the role of Gollum when darkness is about to envelop the world. This game takes place a few years after Gollum found the ring, but before the events described in the books of the Lord of the Rings. Gollum is an agile and cunning character and one of the most intriguing characters in the universe of Lord of the Rings. The choices you make along the way will influence his personality. Which part of him, Gollum or Smeagol, will take control?
Psychonauts 2 – Take control of Raz, a newly whipped psychonaut with powerful psychic and acrobatic abilities. This happens right after the end of the first game. When the psychonauts come back, they notice that the organization has changed for the worse. She is no longer interested in peacekeeping, but in the study of necromancy, among other things. You must use your psychic abilities to find out what happened and stop your enemies from bringing a dangerous villain back from the dead.
Vampire: Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 – In this sequel to the cult classic, use your cunning and charm to climb the ladder of vampire society. The game takes place in Seattle, in a world of darkness. You’ll have to decide which powerful vampire faction to turn to if you want to get out of this unharmed.
