Hello and welcome back to PlayStation Weekly! Here you can follow the latest PlayStation news and other exciting gaming news. Check out the PlayStation trophies, learn more about PS5 and much more in PlayStation Weekly issue 2! Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go, let’s go!
Worried about migrating your PS4 games to PS5? Don’t worry about it. It turned out that Sony has confirmed that PS5 owners will be able to transfer their data from the PS4 to the new PS5 via WiFi. As we currently have this feature available when transferring from one PS4 system to another via WiFi, this shouldn’t be a surprise, but rather a relief. Transferring games and backing up from PS4 to PS5 is much faster and easier than viewing each game one by one and backing up files.
Speaking of PS5: The internet was processed before the PS5 was completely destroyed, which says a lot about the upcoming console. First of all, we noticed that the panels of the PS5 are easy to remove. This is great news, because instead of using sticker skins for decks or consoles, we will be able to choose from a variety of custom models that will surely flood the market. Although Sony has not mentioned the first part of the plans to build and sell custom enclosures, the third market is already making these plans and we can probably expect Sony to do so seriously. You can watch the full video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaAY-jAjm0w.
Regarding the size of the console (does the size really matter? Sing!), the size and shape are designed to cool the PS5 more efficiently. With all those trinkets under the bonnet, this is important because many of us who love our PS4 planes are also worried about the noise of what most of us call a fighter jet take-off. Time will tell, but it seems that Sony has managed to find a solution to this problem.
The PS5 is equipped with dust collectors to keep your console clean and easy to maintain! It’s pretty easy to clean. Remove the lids and suck them up. Personally, I think it’s a great idea because I already keep my console clean and tidy on a regular basis. My advice is to clean regularly before the dust has settled.
And that shouldn’t surprise anyone, but there’s an expandable storage option that allows you to expand the memory of your PS5 as well. I know there was speculation on the internet that we only had 825 gigabytes of storage space, but it was a hard pill to swallow that day and at that age. In my opinion, it would be ridiculous to launch a new generation console without the possibility of memory expansion.
The PS Trophies have recently been updated, which may or may not take long depending on who you ask. If you find that your trophy level has jumped a lot, it’s not a malfunction, but updated levels. Although this is not new to me, I have seen many comments from top trophy hunters who feel that changes in level make their hard-earned platinum a little less important. Trophy hunters sometimes take these things very seriously.
PS5, PS5, PS5!
As we approach the release of PS5, we will continue to receive new information about PS5! A backwards compatibility FAQ has been sent to Sony so that everyone knows how it works. I’ll try to finish with what was announced in the FAQ, of course, it goes a little further than backwards compatible games.
For example, 99% of PS4 games will run on PS5. Some of these games offer upgrades for PS5, but many will not. On the other hand, many backward compatible games take advantage of some of the PS5’s features and offer an even better experience than the PS4. It’s not complicated.
Games that can be upgraded from PS4 to PS5 get the latest updated version. Most of these updates will be free, so let’s say you have Borderlands 3. You insert the PS4 drive into PS5 and use it as a key. The Game Center will show you the upgrade offer and tell you whether it is free or covers the cost of the upgrade. Click on the PS5 update and you will download the digital version for PS5. Again, the floppy disk is your key. If you have a game in digital format, you don’t need a key to the disk because it’s already a digital game in your library.
We found that the PS5 camera is not compatible with the PSVR. Although the PSVR works with the PS5, you will need an adapter, which Sony may provide free of charge. We assume that the installation of the PSVR 2 will be announced in the near future, so they probably didn’t want to add an extra port for the PS4 camera to avoid the higher price of the console. Time will tell.
If you are connected to the same network, you can play PS4 remotely via PS5. You can’t play the PS5 remotely with the PS4. …and why would you do that? Remote reading for PS5 will continue to be a bureaucratic process. PS5
The remote playback application currently available for PS4 is not supported, but I am sure it will be available soon.
Finally, with the PS5 we can adjust the vibration of the controller instead of turning it off completely. The Create button is actually a resource button that has been renamed so that there are no puzzles to solve… are there? Your savings in the cloud are transferred to PS5 when you play PS4 on PS5. Finally, the external USB stick is connected and played back. It turns out that if you have PS4 games on an external storage device, you can simply connect it to your PS5 and everything should work as if it were still connected to your PS4.
Well, there he is! A whole range of delicacies in a single session. I feel like we’re just starting to scratch for something that might happen, so come back next week and catch up! Thank you very much for reading and see you online!
