Apex update 1.60 is now available for download and installation for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. On PS4, the download size is 7.3GB, depending on the platform. Today’s Apex Legends update brings changes to the map layout, a new survival element, changes to the legends, and more!
Vertex Legend Patch Notes 1.60
- Caustic City Takeover – In the new Caustic Therapy, players will find a new dominant mousetrap with an abundance of high-quality loot to lure all the legends in search of glorious cheese. Built to prevent fuel from leaking into the sea, players must drain the toxic liquid from the center of the facility to gain temporary access to four caged gold loot.
- Ring Fury Escalation Takeover – A new game type, the Ring Fury Escalation Takeover has one or more ring flares on the map in the current ring. Classic Royale fights get a new twist with the expansion of pockets in the arena. Players caught in the ring’s eruption take damage equal to the damage the ring inflicts in the current turn. Players can also drop a new item, the heat shield, which forms a protective dome that allows the ring’s lethal effect to pass through the barrier briefly. Heat shields come in the brand new Survival Slot, which aims to eliminate the choice between regular loot and situational tools like the mobile reappearance beacon or heat shield.
- Chaos Theory Collection Event – Includes a reward track with brand new merit cosmetics, Kraber and EVA-8 legendary weapon skins, daily rewards and challenges, and a brand new set of 24 themed, limited edition events. All 24 items will be available during the event via direct purchase (for coins or Apex metals) and in Apex packs. Players who collect all 24 items in the event will receive the value of the Bangalore Legacy. After the event, the relic will be available to all through relic creation.
- No-fill matchmaking is a new way to play as a solo legend that sends you to the playlist of your choice without a team of players. This feature gives players many creative ways to play the game their way.

PRESCRIBED NOZZLES
EDKOE
- The cooling time of the Nox gas grenade was increased from 2.5 minutes to 3.5 minutes.
- Nox gas gives 5 hp flat damage per tick, instead of increasing from 6 hp → 12 hp.
Nota Dev : Caustic soda is very effective in slowing down the fighting. His entire equipment revolves around a broad-spectrum gas that is slow, obstructs vision, and causes immediate health damage. Too many scenarios show that it’s too depressing, especially considering your teammates are relatively perfect at hitting the gas. Significantly reducing the damage caused by the gas (without completely removing it or affecting the armor) seems like a fair compromise that stays true to character and makes it less oppressive to the recipient. We will be following the data and the game closely. If these changes affect the appeal or effectiveness of Caustica too much, we will revisit the issue.
SCOUTS
Watch the device: The flat device was used as a balancing device for moving and small captions. Although Path is still mobile, his hitbox is wide. While the overall win rate and collision win rate are far from low, it’s hard to justify keeping Low Profile on a hitbox of its size.

Nota Dev : The purpose of these changes is to place the personality of this weapon between the rapid-fire of the EVA-8 and the heavy blow of the Peacemaker. Mastiff was consistently dominant in close-quarters combat, with a forgiving spread pattern and high damage spikes with each shot. This change reduces that high damage potential to limit the two-player experience with pushups at receiver.
WEDNESDAY
- +1 bullet for each magazine size, including the base.
CIGUA
- Increased distance between hip joints.
Device message: The explosive fire damage on Hemlock’s hip was too consistent for AO, who should excel in the mid-range. This change reduces Hemlock’s damage spikes that used to take 15 minutes and were unpleasant to deal with.
CHANGES IN QUALITY OF LIFE
- Kings Canyon Loot – we did a loot transfer to increase the quality across the map and still retain some loot after the Mirage Voyage leaves.
- The wooden cabins on the map should have some of these and be of slightly higher quality.
- Spotted Lake has been downgraded from high to medium quality.
- The crash site redistributed some of the loot in the area. The quantity remains the same, but the better loot must be in the ship.
- Leaching is more productive than water treatment, and the quality remains high.
- Changing optics for locked weapons – For weapons with fully locked mounting points, such as. B. On fully equipped gold guns and most tray guns, you can now remove the optic and replace it with another. This does not apply to the Kraber sniper rifle.
- The help has been added to the game’s HUD, next to the attacks. It was already in the rankings and has now been added to the non-rankings. Wizards still don’t contribute to the XP. This has replaced the symbol of the eye of the beholder.
- Wizards and Nokes have been added to your team banners and will be shown at the end of the game.

- Weapon Inspection – since the survival slot button has been moved to the controller (we only have a limited number of buttons!), the weapon inspection slot has been moved to the big wheel by default. It can be linked to any key on the PC.

- Fixed a bug where the Gibraltar was not registering success when simultaneously activating ADS and firing when its armor shield was activated.
CHAPTER
- Wraith players can no longer cancel In the Void by jumping over the wall.
- The new skydiving emote now works with legendary skins.
EDKOE
- Fixed a bug that caused Nox gas to flicker on some affected players.
OKTAN
- Repeated use of the same bouncer will no longer disable the double jump.

TAKING ON THE BITING CITY
If life gives you lemons, you can count on the lye to turn them into poisonous lemonade. The new lye treatment is a new dominant mousetrap with an abundance of high quality prey to attract all the legends looking for glorious cheese.
Another important innovation: heat shields!
HITZESCHILDER
During the Ring of Rage grapple, all players have a heat shield in their inventory at the beginning of the game if they fall. Make sure you have a heat shield to prevent damage from the glare of the ring (or the ring itself!), and remember that you can always find more. The loot base for this event is configured to spread heat shields across the map.
Heat shields form a protective dome that briefly shields the ring’s deadly effect through the barrier, allowing the legendaries outside the ring to loot, resurrect, and generally perform amazing feats. Additionally, while in the dome, healing items will be 50% faster to use and resuscitation speed will be increased by 25%. This bonus is ONLY awarded by ring activated heat shields. Standby heat shields in a safe area save energy and do not give this bonus.
But be careful: The heat shield slowly deteriorates as it is damaged by the ring. The damage to the ring affects the duration of the heat protection, so don’t expect it to last very long in the later rounds.
Once the capture of the ring of fury is complete, the heat shield remains in play as general field loot.
Those who are worried about the heat shield taking up valuable space in the inventory need not worry. Respawn has announced that a new Survival slot will be added to the game.
You’ll notice that the heat shield doesn’t take up any of the normal places in your inventory, but is housed in a brand new survival slot.
The survival slot is designed to eliminate the choice between ordinary loot and situational aids such as the mobile azure beacon or heat shield. There’s no reason not to carry it with you anymore. Coordinate with your team and the possibility of more survival tactics increases!
Like the heat shield, the survival slot itself will be available in the game after the takeover by Ringfury Escalation is completed.
CLIMB ABSORPTION INTRODUCTION
As with previous playlists, Ring Fury will replace the usual Duets and Trios playlists for the two-week collection event. The valuation is not affected.
Unlike previous takeovers, however, Ring Fury is an escalation takeover, meaning that every few days during the event we turn a few knobs to increase the frequency, timing and size of the ring bursts. Five different levels of climbing are expected at the end of the event. Exciting.

MATCHMAKING WITHOUT FUEL
TL;DR : No-Fill Matchmaking is a new way to play the game like a solo legend. Here’s how it works and why you can use it.
In the lobby you will see a checkbox that says Fill in the Match. This means that the game system will try to fill your team with duos or trios, depending on the turn you take. That’s how the game has worked so far, and it will be the default after every game.
Uncheck this box and click Play to send your game to the playlist of your choice without filling your team with other players. So if you’re solo in Trios without matchmaking for fillers enabled, you’re on your own. You play in a team of one player against teams of three players.
We still believe that Apex Legends, at its best, is a team game. But we’re introducing this no-fill matchmaking system as an option for solo players, because we think it will give you many creative ways to play the game your way.
Here are some examples of how Fillerless is used:
- Focus on specific daily and weekly tasks
- Warm up, warm down, and fight many battles.
- Challenge yourself: can you win a series of duets on your own? What about threesomes?
- See the last teaser caption for yourself
- Explore the map and experience characters you’ve never tried before; take the opportunity to learn a little more about the game at your own pace.
We’ve imposed some restrictions on unfilled matchmaking because we don’t want it to significantly disrupt the experience or pacing of the game for other players. We only allow six potential unfilled players in a game, and this feature is not available in leaderboards.

CHAOS THEORY COMPILATION AND TRACK AWARDS
This is not a collectible event without new unlockables. Let’s start with the free. As always, the Chaos Theory Collection event brings reward tracks with brand new cosmetic rewards. This time, these include the legendary Kraber and EVA-8 weapon skins.
You can earn 1,000 points per day and will be updated daily on the challenges you face. There are also expandable tests that reward four unique badges if you complete them during the event. All of these challenges can also be combined with your Battle Pass, allowing you to complete multiple challenges at once.
