This survey is aimed at players who own Ring Fit or use it regularly.
What do you think of the ring assembly?
For a loose survey, I approached 10 people I know who own the game. I asked similar questions to those in the survey above.
1) Before you tried Ring Fit, how much did you exercise?
2) Did the ring fit as well as you expected?
3) Is it an effective training tool for you?
4) What are the most difficult exercises?
5) Have you stopped playing? How many sessions (or how long) have you played Ring Fit?
6) Are you motivated to continue playing? Why or why not?

Does the ring fit?.
Most of the ten people I met in a random survey were between 20 and 30 years old, and two people were between 40 and 50.
One third did not exercise at all before owning Ring Fit, while another third exercised almost daily. The most consistent athlete reported lifting weights 3 days a week and high-intensity cardio 3 days a week.
Was it as much fun as expected? All 10 gave a positive answer, only a few were enthusiastic: I wasn’t expecting anything. In fact, it’s okay.
The game is full of humor and puns with names like Kennelbell (a dog-faced weight) and Jackass (a gun-toting opponent).
This is what the other two said.
Elizabeth: I bought Ring Fit because it looked ridiculous. I was surprised that it was nice and just as nice as advertised.
Ash: I love the story, I think the characters are fun and funny. I love all the names, like Dashley (she runs all the time) and Abdonis (he’s an abbot, of course!). I also think all little enemies are cute and smart. I like fighting stupid weights that look like dogs, or those little guys that look like crabs and have a protein shaker for a sink. I got into a fight with a big group of bad guys and left: Oh, I’m going to beat you with my improved positional curve!

Is the belt suitable for exercise?
Is it an effective training tool? Most of the 10 said yes, with the exception of one who said no (not specified) and one who said he felt no difference. Here’s what others have said:
Ray: This prompted me to put my lazy ass to work. I think the adventure, especially during the isolation period at home, really motivated me to stay fit in a safe environment.
Are you stuck at home? There’s always the adventure of the rings.
Nate: For the most part, it was effective. This can be a challenge if you have to do a lot of repetitive exercises. But it’s more weight training than cardio.
Elizabeth: The Fit Ring has been a very effective training device for some time: I liked the emphasis on static and dynamic stretching and the opportunity to engage different muscle groups. The biggest change was in the diet: Watching the cartoon I Drink Cocktail Healing Drinks made me want to try cocktails in real life too.
Ash: I think it is. I don’t think it’s effective for losing weight. But it is very effective for me to keep my mental health in check during this time. I did Ring Fit just to get that dose of endorphins that help bring my mental state out of the doldrums. I can say that on days when I don’t use my Ring Con, I feel more listless. I also feel like my body is getting sharper and firmer, which I think is a better result than just losing weight.
Make cocktails and drink them to help you in battle. Green tea, for example, strengthens all attacks of green.
Most difficult exercises for ring embedding
Nate: Arm bend, mountain climb.
Ray: Anything to do with arm work. My hands are usually so sore!
Elizabeth: Exercises for the back. At first they didn’t seem that difficult, but that was because I wasn’t bending as much as I wanted in the game, which kept asking me to bend a little more. The game did give me credit for completed attacks when a few seconds had passed and I still couldn’t do more, but since attacks do damage based on how you execute the move, I still didn’t do as much damage to enemies as I should have.
Kerry: Sliding arms.
MR. T : Board.
Mickey: Mountaineer.
Caroline: The one you have to sit on. The room where I do my exercises is not very big.
Hard back and upper arm exercises!
Stephen: Tree Pose and Warrior Pose III.
Ash: WEAPONS STUFF! I think I just have weak spaghetti hands, but I find many of the arm exercises the hardest. The aerial press is particularly difficult for me, I guess that means I need this exercise the most, right? The overhead wide squat is killing me too. I find that after about 8 my arms and legs burn and I want to stop. I take regular breaks. Some yoga exercises can be difficult: I’m really struggling with Pose Warrior III. But I love yoga, so I was very interested to know that there were yoga exercises.
Hiromi: Punch-a-mole. (A mini-game called Robo Wrecker.)
Robo-Wrecker is one of the many Ring Fit minigames. To hit the robots, you have to alternately squeeze the cone ring and pull it out, which is resistance training.
I agree. The arm exercises, especially the overhead exercises, were the most difficult. The Mountain Climber and the Plank, where you lie horizontally on the ground, were also nearly impossible for me to do. Fortunately, you don’t have to do any special exercises.
Do you still play ring toss tournaments?
Obviously, most people I know liked Ring Fit Ring and found it worth the challenge. But was it good enough to let them play?
Half of them reported that they had stopped playing between one month and several months. Here are some reasons to stop:
Ray: When the work got too heavy, I noticed I wasn’t playing anymore. And I find that if you skip one day, it’s easier to skip consecutive days and not resume training. I think, to be honest, I only worked 20+ hours. I really need to get back to it!
Elizabeth: I had to quit Ring Fit because of the difficulty. There is no variable complexity: You can’t put it on talk: My legs are strong, but my back hurts. I hurt my back doing too much, but when I lowered the difficulty, the other exercises became too easy. Shortly after I stopped playing, I moved to a smaller apartment and was not motivated to start again.
MR. T : I stopped Ring Fit because of my family’s nightly activities.
Keep your party going inside when it’s raining outside.
For those still playing Ring Fit, the blocking due to Covid-19 was a motivating factor:
Nate: Because of the constipation, I did it 3 times a week. Now that the freeze is over, I’ve cut it down to once a week. I’ve already played 90 sessions.
Kerry: I stopped for a while because of work and also because I forgot my game. But recently I started again because of the blockage. I’ve been playing for about six months now.
Ash: I think I’ll keep playing until I can safely go to the gym again, and even then I’ll probably keep playing to beat and at least unlock everything. I’ve been playing for 65 days now, I think (that’s what Tipp tells me when I start the game). I try to play an hour every day, except Saturdays, when I rest. Sometimes my muscles are really sore and I have to take another day off. Usually, when I do a head-bending exercise… I don’t know if I’m positioning myself wrong or if I just have short thigh muscles, but the back of my legs really hurt afterwards.
Motivation to reproduce the conforming ring
Finally, I asked them if they were motivated to continue (or resume) Ring Fit.
Nate: No, I’ve had enough.
Mickey: I’d rather watch Korean dramas with my mom.
Ray: Yes and no. Yeah, because with ICE and Chinese New Year, I think I’m getting off to a slow start. No, because after a long day at work, I just want to relax with Animal Crossing.
Big Bad, Precious Drago. You’ll have to work to beat him.
Elizabeth: I would love to play Ring Fit again! I stopped playing a fake version of Sparta full of bad puns and stupid tics, and I still want to see if the giant purple dragon gets a redemption arc in the game (and if the ring is secretly evil, I have theories). But now I’ve unlocked a boat that relies entirely on lower back movement. Although there’s a chance I can do it in easy mode, I’m afraid of getting hurt again, so I’m putting it off.
Kerry: Yes and no. No, because I still prefer multiplayer/competitive practice. It’s a shame that Ring Fit is a single-player game; it would have been a lot more fun if it had been multiplayer. Yes, because it’s the only exercise I can easily do at home while blogging.
MR. T : Sometimes I do exercises based on Ring Fit skills, even though I don’t play the main story anymore.
Ash: Yes. I want to keep playing to keep my sanity. Plus, I feel better knowing I’m doing something to keep my body in good shape. I want to see this story – as silly and far-fetched as it is – and find out what that Dragaux is? The game is fun and saved my spirits during a difficult time. A purchase that was well worth it!
Caroline: Not at the moment. I took it upon myself to do exercises using examples on YouTube.
Hiromi: I like it, but I don’t have time to play.
Stephen: Yes, the exercises are effective, the story is not over yet, and the complexity of fitness can be increased.
I need to spread my wings from time to time…. By turning me on my stomach.

Best answer: Ring Fit Adventure has nothing to do with Wii Fit. Ring Fit Adventure focuses more on motion-based role-playing games and combat elements, while Wii Fit focuses more on mini-games for physical activity.
