Recently (in March) I had some free time due to the pandemic and decided to tackle this problem appropriately. I’ve been helping others manage their power for a long time, but I’ve never had mine. It only took me 4 weeks to reach my goal of becoming a Twitch affiliate, which is a decent time frame. With a little more time, dedication and avoiding a few mistakes I probably could have done it faster. I’ve listed below the 10 most important things to do to become a Twitch affiliate fast!
BranchSuccess criteria
First, let’s look at the 4 criteria you need to meet to become a Twitch partner. 50 followers, 8 hours of broadcast (in the last 30 days), 7 days of broadcast (in the last 30 days), and an average of 3 viewers.
Two of these 4 criteria are very simple and only take time. Power for 8 hours and power for 7 single days within the last 30 days. To evaluate these criteria, send twice a week for just one hour. In 30 days you would have easily overcome these 2 criteria. To put it bluntly: If you can’t stream for 8 hours or more than 7 times in 30 days, you probably won’t get very far as a streamer.
The other two criteria are where the difficulty arises and, presumably, why you are reading this article. Acquire 50 followers and maintain an average audience of 3 viewers. Here are 10 tips to help you meet these 2 criteria as quickly as possible and get into the store. I can say that I have used them all and they have all helped me.
1. Have a schedule
It can be one of those surprisingly difficult things. But if you’re serious about streaming, you should at least set a schedule. Even if you only have a regular feed for a few hours a week, your viewers can know roughly when you will be live. This will help you increase your audience and keep your audience above 3. The trick is not to overdo it.
It is better to broadcast more than expected than to broadcast less than expected and disappoint viewers. For example, my schedule calls for me to broadcast 3 hours per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and (possibly) Fridays at 2pm (Eastern time). In fact, most weeks I stream 4 times a week, and almost all of my feedings last more than 3 hours. But this way I won’t let any of my regular viewers down.
How is that supposed to help? – If you have a schedule, you can attract regular viewers. This will help you keep your average audience above 3 and get viewers to follow you. Both will help you get into the Twitch affiliate.
2. Ask your friends
Ask your friends to integrate your feed in the background and follow you live. All you need is 2 friends to watch each feed, then watch the feed yourself, and you’ll easily reach an average of 3 viewers. The more viewers you have, the more open you are, as you get closer and closer to the top of the category. Just a memory: These friends must be at a different address (or using a different internet), because Twitch only has 2 viewers from the same IP. So you can also ask someone in your home to watch, but it doesn’t matter if you set up all the devices in your home to watch.
How is that supposed to help? – It’s probably the best way to make sure you stay above 3 viewers. But even if you only have two people following you and you know it, it’s already two people close to the 50 followers you need.
3. Select the correct set(s)
This is a very difficult task, and it will completely vary from banner to banner. First, it has to be a game that you want and enjoy playing. If you don’t want to play the game, your viewers can tell you, unless you’re a so-called god.
The other important element to consider is the audience, and not just the number of people watching the game, but also the number of people watching the game in streaming, and the importance of audience distribution (e.g. there are 99% spectators at the first place and only a few others). So you don’t want to choose a completely dead game, but you also don’t want to choose the most popular games. If you’re really losing, check out Twitch Strike, a handy tool for finding the game or games that are right for you. But back to my first point – pick a game to play!
How is that supposed to help? – Choosing the right game is an opportunity. This increases the likelihood of clicking on your feed and therefore having followers/viewers.
4. Correct settings
There is nothing worse than clicking on a streamer and having a delay in loading the stream, dropping images or distorting audio levels. It’s an unpleasant spectacle. Most streaming programs have a wizard that allows you to set the right settings based on your PC’s performance. But this does not take into account internet speed or noise level.
So there are a few things you can do to make sure your river remains of good quality. If your stream has issues with 1080p 60fps, you don’t have to worry about the resolution or frame rate dropping. What you give up is a personal choice. Typically, a drop in frames per second when the game slows down, and a drop in resolution when the game speeds up. For noise levels, you should set your microphone to about -10 to -15 decibels (upper yellow range in OBS) and about -20 to -25 decibels for most other sounds. You can also see the channel fade out. Be sure to monitor your stream to see if the bit rate or images have dropped. If your provider is down or has serious concerns, consider stopping the feed and sending a short message on your social media to let your viewers know why.
How is that supposed to help? – A high quality feed will result in a higher percentage of people monitoring your feed taking follow-up action. It’s the difference between 1 in 100 becoming a repeat job and 1 in 20. Anything that catches the interest of the viewer and helps to increase the audience will help you to get into Twitch Affliliate.
5. Raid/Host of other similar channels
Find necklaces that look like yours and put them in a hold-up or host. This will help you develop your relationship with them, and they may call you or the master of ceremonies or the raid may come back to you the next time you go live. Choose chains of similar size and play games similar to yours. Also, pick the channels you really like and watch them, not just to shout about it. People can tell when you’re being dishonest.
How is that supposed to help? – This also helps the opening capacity. Many other small streamers will be screaming and you may even find them and their mods will follow you.
6. Chat through other similar channels (NO SPAM!)
That looks like number 5. But go to other similar channels and keep in touch. Talk to them and build a relationship. Don’t go on someone else’s channel to promote your own. If an opportunity arises and they ask or give permission for self-promotion, reach out. But if you don’t, go to her riverside a few times and get to know her. If the time is right, then you should consider the fact that you are streaming as well. Chances are, if they’re like you, they’ll discourage you from following them and yelling at you. Don’t post a link to a thread without their permission and don’t expect them to congratulate you!
It’s also a great way to think about your own flow. Like what they do best and how to improve flow at that distance. But also ask them about their flow, for example B. if you think they have an anti-doping coating, ask them where they got it or ask about their device. This will give you a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t, and help you improve your own process, as well as provide networking opportunities.
How is that supposed to help? – This advice also helps people find your channel. More people means more opportunities for fans and regular spectators.
7. Network!
I think the last two were also technically about networking, especially Twitch interaction. This advice is about how to simply set up a network as a whole. It’s such a broad topic because there are so many ways to interact, and it just depends on how you want to do it. Here are some of the most common methods.
Tweet and participate in discussions about the games, call other similar streamers, and call all viewers after the stream to thank them for coming.
Create an Instagram and share the highlights of your feed and share or create game memes.
Start a YouTube channel, create a video and link to the introduction and/or subscribe.
Create a TikTok and make fun videos and create a small audience, then connect your feed to the video.
Find readers to join where you can share your content and connect with like-minded people. As for the discrepancy, you can find the link in the header and footer.
Here are several ways to network your channel. I mean, it’s really hard to grow on Twitch. It is easier to develop on other, more open platforms and let them evolve.
How is that supposed to help? – It’s free publicity. The more people who look at your food, the more likely you are to have followers and viewers. It’s also a great way to build community.
8. Creating clips and highlights
Making a clip or showing it and broadcasting it on other platforms is technically another form of networking. But it’s important enough to make a point. It gives people a small taste of your content before they commit to viewing it. If you see someone doing something epic or funny in a game, you’re more likely to look at the content. The same goes for your potential viewers. If you have a funny moment in the feed, feel free to share it. There’s a small chance the clip will explode and go viral, and you’ll be an affiliate within a week. It’s a small chance, but a chance nonetheless! But in any case, it will help you achieve your partnership goals.
How is that supposed to help? – This way, you can showcase the excellence of your content and convince more people to watch your channel. More people means more spectators and more chances for followers.
9. Cat (even if nobody is there)
That’s actually a pretty important point. The simplest thing is to set an example.
You have two new little streamers that you click. You click on banner A and he just stands there, in complete silence, playing the game. As a spectator, you get bored pretty quickly (unless the game looks like a god). So you decide to check out streamer B, he talks even when you don’t know what he’s about, or even when he’s about something, he still tries to chat. Immediately the content becomes more attractive and interesting.
The best advice I can give you is to turn on your inner monologue. This can be difficult, especially when you have literally 0 people in the chat room telling you what to talk about. Try to talk about something. What you do in the game. What are you going to do now? Why did you do anything? If you run out of material in the game, use the classic small sentences, such as B. what you’re going to eat next. Maybe a story about your day, even a bad pun or a joke, is better than silence. Then, when someone enters your chat room, they will already have the impression that they are getting an answer from you, as you say.
If the cat comes up to speed, make sure you answer the questions and put them on hold to try and tackle them. The longer they stay on your feed, the more likely they are to follow you and the higher your average audience during this time.
How is that supposed to help? – This will help you mobilize your audience, convince them to stay longer and convince them to follow you. It’s also helpful if no one is currently participating in the chat, because someone can go look at the cat at any time.
10. Title, Tags, Description and Signs
All this can play an important role in the search for new followers and biological people. I’ve broken them down below, with a few tips under each subheading.
TITLE
Titles are a constantly evolving art form. What works well one day may be completely missed the next. If you’re really stuck, look at other banners that play the same game as you or do something similar to what you do in the game. Don’t copy their name, use it for inspiration. Try not to make the title too long, and try to start with the most important information. Try not to repeat the information and put for example B. the game in the title, you are already in the game category, so they know what game you are playing. Adding a call to action, a question or even a command can also be useful. Especially if you’re playing with an audience.
Bonus tip: play with the audience. It can be a double-edged sword (sorry Amondine) because sometimes viewers stop watching when they start playing with you, but it can be great if you grab attention and bring viewers to your channel.
TAGS
Some viewers actually use tags instead of games when searching Twitch. So having the right label can attract additional viewers to your channel, especially if you have a niche label (but don’t lie about labels). Remember to adjust your tags for each thread based on what you are doing. Also, familiarize yourself with them so you can choose them in a pinch if you change your plans in the meantime.
DESCRIPTION
A short introduction can be very helpful in getting people to know you and your personality faster than if you had to follow your journey over a long period of time. It can also be very effective in getting someone to follow you, especially if some or all of your interests align with theirs. I recommend keeping the description fairly short and simple, for example B. Imagine, perhaps in broad strokes, where you came from in this world and what you do when you do something other than what you do every day. Then follow with what you like and end with the mood or ethos of your stream.
FIELDER
Signs are an excellent way to expand the description to provide even more detail. It also makes your workflow more professional. You’ll have a panel for each of your social networks and maybe one for the prompt if you have it set up. I also recommend that you make a detailed description of yourself. You may have a panel for a comprehensive list of games you play, and perhaps a panel for hardware configuration. You can also take a look at some of Twitch’s expansion panels. You have some for streaming schedules, your Twitter feed, W/L in some games, and others. Overall, not only does your feed look more professional, but it’s also a great way to convert viewers into community members because they can end up following you across multiple platforms.
How is that supposed to help? – It all helps in different ways. They can help attract new viewers. They all contribute to a better flow. They also help transform onlookers into followers and even members of the community. All of this will help you achieve these partnership goals!
Good luck
I wish you the best of luck in your streaming career and your path to supervisor status. Feel free to jump on the controversy and share your feed with the incredible community that . Don’t forget to check out Dream 2 Stream, a podcast for small streamers!
