I’ve missed MMO Week in Review! It’s time to start this new edition by going back to the week most of you are probably having a hard time forgetting, the Burning Crusade launch. Burning Crusade was no doubt the most anticipated launch of the year, but it was also the most disappointing. Many of the key aspects of the Burning Crusade were missing (for example, the level cap was raised to 70, but the end-game has yet to materialize), and the PvP system was so horribly broken that it was removed from the game before launch. No doubt the most common complaint about the Burning Crusade was that it was a long, drawn out game. However, if you want to see just how long an MMO really is, check out the
The MMO week in review is my weekly look at what games I have been playing. I like to pick out a genre of game and play them all. I have not been playing a lot of games in recent weeks, so this week is a little slower, but I do have a few things to talk about.
This was a big week for MMOs. Two new entries into the genre made their public debuts: Blackwood and Prisms. Both were well-reviewed and met with generally positive reviews. Despite some complaints that the player-base in these games was too small, they both still managed to impress many with their art, sound, and combat systems.
One of my favorite problems is when the week is so full of important MMORPG news that I can’t decide what to write about at the end of the week, and that’s what today is about. This week was also dominated by WoW Classic Burning Crusade and Elder Scrolls Online Blackwood, as well as Crowfall with a launch date announced and No Man’s Sky Prisms. We also got cozy with the Palia, shared our thoughts on the Elite Dangerous Odyssey, and talked about some unannounced MMOs we know are in development. Today, as every Sunday, read Massively Overpowered’s weekly review for the best MMO news and opinions of the week!

On the other hand, the game developer and publisher of the game, Blizzard, also made some questionable decisions.
