We never see these two monsters interacting directly, it’s only through dialogue with ncps and speculation about ncps that we get information about them…. And then I just have a few questions.
Alatreon, as we all know, is REALLY close to everything that lives (he likes to live in the most uninhabitable places), especially to anything that can compete with him for power, the same can be said of Safi because he attacks everything that lives (namely us) without provocation.
Why didn’t the two monsters try to kill each other? Yes, I know we kill Safi, but the NPC dialogue (if I understand it correctly) implies that Safi is still alive and cooling in TSV when Alatron arrives.
It got me thinking, what is the connection between the two? Did Safi, like Xeno, release a pheromone to attract Alatron to feed on his biological energy? Could it be that Alareon just sensed Safi’s competition and decided to get rid of the threat (we’re fighting it now) and feed off Safi’s bio-energy.
Or do Alatreon and the Jiiva lineage have a deeper bond, like a mutual/symbiotic partnership (similar to a clownfish with a sea anemone), where Alatreon sometimes protects Safi (including individuals who are still cocooning, since we see multiple cocoons within the TSV), while Safi feeds on biological energy and makes the environment sterile and dead (which Alatreon prefers) or eventually reproduces or something?
If they reproduce (or if Alatreon devours Safi’s biological energy), this whole theory/reference to the Shining Blue Dragon might have some credibility, White Alatreon as seen in the concept art of Illustration 2 of The Monster Hunter, (
).
http://server.digimetriq.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/So-Ive-Been-Pondering-About-Safi-Alatreon-The-Secluded.jpg) and supposedly mentioned in earlier games with the blue fire making the white scales sparkle…
The blue fire could come from the pure dragon energy that the Jiiva lineage naturally possesses, and could be transferred to that individual by reproducing it with Jiiva, Alatreon absorbing it by absorbing Safi itself, or from a unique individual that only evolves/moves in time due to natural causes or direct exposure to the biological energy of the eternal flow of the self.
I know some of this is pretty fucked up, but Capcom let it go and left it all to speculation….. Come on Capcom, you killed me here, you left us with such a juicy mystery with little explanation!
Thoughts or other theories?

- I think the end of the game is really missing Alatron or a similar monster.
TLDR: the goal is to shred the same samples, breaks the MH formula seriously, these are TEDs, although they are a real challenge the first few times, become incredibly annoying after a few runs. At least for me, I now feel so unmotivated to fight them that I can kill them on a regular basis. Of course, of course…
