Redeemer Tree
Tree of Savior is a free MMORPG developed by IMC Games and published by Nexon. If those names sound familiar, it’s for a reason. IMC Games developed the popular Ragnarok Online MMO (which by the way is very similar to Maplestory). Nexon is, of course, the publisher of Maplestory.
If you combine these two giants of the video game industry, you get the Saviour’s Tree. The game was released in 2016, which makes it quite modern in terms of MMOs. The game has many similarities with Maplestory: The graphics are in a nice 2-2.5D anime style, there are different classes to choose from, you can upgrade your weapons and armor, and there are guild/parties to make it all fun!
If you are worried about the relatively low reviews of the game – it received 6/10 on Steam – then you should know that many of the negative reviews date back to the early days when the game really suffered several problems. However, the developers have reworked most of the game, including the introduction of a review of the class system, new servers, faster alignment, and so on.
Another advantage of the revenue tree is not the cost of winning. If you only focus on maximizing your PvP potential, you can take a big step forward as a free player, especially if you only want the crowd. Don’t forget to let the Savior Tree try if you want to scratch the jitters of Maplestory.
Online Dungeon Fighter
Dungeon Fighter Online is another Korean game developed by Neople, a subsidiary of Nexon. It was released in 2005, but even in 2020 it still has enough players.
DFO is a multiplayer action that beats your RPG action. It is rather an arcade game that accidentally mixes with RPG elements. However, there are many similarities with Maplestory. From 2D character graphics to boss robberies and raids, the game has something to do. The game’s unique combat mechanisms also make for a good PvP, where not only your character’s items are important, but also the factors that influence your abilities.
There are over 40 classes, so there are many ways to play different roles. There’s even a pickup system! The main disadvantage of the game is that the end of the game can lead to many loops. But you don’t pay much to win concepts. You don’t have to invest a lot of time and money to have fun.
Mabinogs
Mabinogi is another MMORPG released by Nexon that many Maplestory players will surely appreciate. The game is unique because it derives its name and locations from Welsh mythology.
What is beautiful about Mabinoga is the spooky action and the social aspect. The community is one of the friendliest in the game world and gives you advice and support in the game and beyond. There’s no pressure to shred it – you can take it anywhere because the content is very open.
There are no level limits or class systems, just explore the open world to keep you busy. Despite the fact that the game was released in 2004, there are always updates and new features. You can be anyone in the game, from knight to warrior, ninja to cook and much more, all on one account. Clear and positive game graphics also make for a good mood.
FFXIV
If you are looking for a premium MMORPG, FFXIV offers it. The game requires a monthly subscription, and there are good reasons for that. You pay for high-level graphics, an exciting storyline and a series of extensions that offer new dungeons, raids and side missions. The game allows you to customize many characters and holds your hand perfectly until you learn the game. It’s a fun game and it’s really worth checking if you have the means to play it.
Eternal Eden
Eden Eternal is another MMORPG with nice anime style 3D graphics. Released in 2010 on Aeria Games, which produced games like Grand Fantasia, Shaiya and Aura Kingdom.
The basis of the game is not as important as before, but there is still a base of hard-core players who enjoy the endgame and PvP. In general, Eden Eternal is ideal to play if you are looking for an occasional game.
Lunar history
If you are looking for a game like Maplestory that you can play right in your browser, check out Lunaria Story. It is a 2D side-scrolling, like Maplestory, and it has the same cartoon-style graphics. The characters and the monsters are cute, and there are gangsters and quests. However, since this is a browser game, do not expect difficult gameplay mechanisms. It’s a decent game if you’re bored at work or school and want to kill for a while.
History
LaTale is a 2D MMORPG with side scrolling and graphics very similar to Maplestory. In addition to the 10+ classes and 50+ courses, there are all the other features of the role-playing game: Bosses, raids, guilds, parties and even PvP.
Save your soul online
Soul Saver online is another game similar to Maplestory. In fact, it looks like it was probably modelled after the game. However, the game is quite inactive today – you should probably play the MS itself or one of the other games on this list.
Ellsworth
Ilsword is a free-scrolling role-playing game. If you are looking for fast animations, skill-based combat, PvP and different character classes, then Elsword is for you. The game consists of 13 different characters, each with their own story and skills to develop.
The population in the game is not as high as it used to be, so it can be difficult to find people to run the dungeons to level 80 or 90. However, there are regular activities that can keep you on your toes and help you sharpen your equipment. High quality dungeons usually require very high level amulets, which can be quite expensive.
Dragon’s Nest
For those who prefer to fight in their games, the Dragon’s Nest is ideal. The game is an action role-playing game known for its lightning-fast perspectives and battle scenes. It’s a great game where you can sit down, hack and cut if you just want to spam a lot of buttons and kill enemies in a fantastically animated way.
