I have a confession to make. Purple is my favorite color.
Purple neon, to be exact (you can blame the Blade Runner). There’s no purple neon, which is too bad. But there’s a handful of ordinary purple ones worth dozens of hours.
In the foreword to this list, I would like to say that many of the brilliant purple drawings we have now are from older generations. Back then, the brilliant hunt wasn’t what it is now.
As a result, Game Freak has invested less time and effort in their development. The design gets better and better with each generation, so be patient with me.
20. Evaporator
Unfortunately, Vaporon begins with a trend that isn’t inspired by a brilliant Pokémon.
In the older generations it was a kind of team, and the last few years there were not many purple choices.
Still I like the brilliant design of the cornflower, even if it’s too simple.
The simple colour change from blue to purple gives the handle a bit of femininity, which really complements the more elegant design. Especially because the sprites are now more in 3D.
19. Lapra
The lapra is almost exactly like a vaporetto.
It’s an old Pokémon from a time when glitter didn’t get that much love and attention. It also has a feminine design, which is very well complemented by changing colors.
What’s unusual, though, is that it’s one of the Pokémon that I think has deteriorated with each generation.
His Sprite Gen II had a light purple belly, which made Lapra look like a Disney character.
I’ll never know why they decided to pull him out in favor of his usual white belly.
18. Rapidash
I’d like to put Rapidash at the top of the list. Really, I am.
I like the blue-violet light that’s inexplicable. I don’t know why, but it’s like dopamine for the eyes.
It’s about the hat: Emboar and Litvit (both not mentioned).
In the past, Rapidas was my favorite. The change of colour gives the Pokémon Flame a sinister look as if it belonged to one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Then Gen met three of them. And the Rapida’s mystical purple flame has been replaced by black.
Don’t get me wrong, it still looks cool. And I think it’s supposed to be smoke.
However, he took the soda with purple Rapidash and threw it in the garbage.
But I’m putting him on the list anyway. At one point it was purple. Even if it’s not there yet.
17. Towing
Dragage has a design with a bomb that’s really under the radar.
The algae-based type of dragon wouldn’t work as well as it does, but Game Freak does.
This is one of the glitters that undergo a dramatic improvement with a simple change of color, even though purple is incredibly boring.
If you look at the elves next to each other, you can swear that they look brilliant as always, and the brown drawing is their brilliant version.
If she did, she’d probably get the love I think she deserves.
16. Word
A different kind of water that turned purple. How funny!
I put Wailord above the other two just because he looks so happy in the eighth generation.
Seriously, if you haven’t seen his Sprite, you’ll miss it.
He looks so innocently happy, and his teeth shine bright white. Honestly, I’m a little jealous.
15. Herakross
A goblin shiny rose Heracrosis?
Maybe, but who cares?
The female Heracross has a heart-shaped horn, not pointed, which makes the pink argument believable… but in the second generation it was definitely purple, so your argument is questionable anyway.
Why am I a fan of the alternative colour of Herrakross?
Honestly, I’m not entirely sure.
The usual blue is quite boring, while the light pink-purple makes the beetle look like an exotic beetle, which pleases me perfectly.
14. Sharfeeda
Purple Sharpeda sounds a lot crazier than his usual analogy.
The Pokémon used to look angry. But now it looks like this is the kind of Pokémon that would be chased to extinction.
It’s not even his brilliant mega-evolution, which seems even crazier.
If my Pokémon seems to attack his opponent rather than his team, he’ll get a spot on one of my lists.
13. Kindra
The royalties are the same as for violet.
So it’s only natural that Kindra looks good in these colors.
The blue Kindra was too light to carry royal features, a problem that was completely eliminated by changing the brilliant colour.
I would even go so far as to say that just going from light to dark is enough to bring Kindra from a mediocre look to a totally cool look.
12. Wetlands
I would like to point out that purple and pink do not go together.
Bumpert, who’s a rambunctious boy, knows how to save himself.
I think the usual Bumpert colours suffer from the same light blue problem I discussed with Kindra.
Purple is a nice addition, while Swampert only needs a darker colour, even though the shade of purple makes him look as if he is blushing after someone calls him beautiful.
11. Rosarida
No, okay? Roserada is not purple when she shines, but she gets a purple flower, so I count her anyway!
My preference for glitter is rather a well thought-out frame, not just a change of color.
I appreciate that the design of the Pokémon itself is taken into account, not just the colours.
It’s about Roserad. The purple and black flowers are much more beautiful than the traditional red and white flowers. It looks like a poisonous flower, whatever it probably is.
I wish there was more glitter when it comes to shades and design, but what can I do?
10. Delibird
The Deliberd must be red.
His original color scheme was a perfect Christmas picture, and Game Freak couldn’t have done better.
His purple goblin, however, still holds that Christmas spirit.
If we don’t know what he looked like in the second generation… which, let’s face it, was disgusting, then Delibird is a simplified little penguin who looks like the little helper of Santa Pokémon.
The fact that he finds no greater calling in life than bringing joy to others is nothing but a source of inspiration.
When he shines, he exchanges his Christmas uniform for something that looks like a nice winter coat. And that’s a level of sympathy I will pursue forever.
9. Ampharos
When I think of sweet Pokémon, Ampharos always comes to mind first, even before Delibird.
The fact that she rejects a drawing inspired by the sheep of her beginnings is not important if her drawing is so impeccable.
It’s a Pokémon that always looks purple. The brilliant style is much more feminine than its yellow counterpart, so much so that I wouldn’t cross my eyes if the Ampharosa males were yellow and the females standard purple.
Should I send these ideas to Nintendo?
It is also part of a handful of legends that play a small role in the main plot outside the battle.
8. Hang glider
The dragon hair is in a strange place, where it looks much better in purple, but the fact that the shiny version is more beautiful is very appropriate.
It looks elegant and rare. To the point where, of course, it ends up in a million-dollar situation.
Violet brings out her white winged ears much more than her usual colours, which only adds to the softness and mystery of her ears.
7. Gourmet
If this was not clear in my mind on the bright pink straight line, I like the combination of purple and black.
Although the Roserad contains only a small number of colours, it becomes the whole theme of the brilliant connoisseur.
Since it must be a Halloween Pokémon (a pumpkin, not a gourd?), dark and disturbing colours make this drawing beautiful.
He also manages to deal with it without making the gourmets less cute and less friendly.
This is the ideal color scheme for the type of ghost, such as Gengar.
I also have a thorough knowledge of Gurshet’s purple hair.
6. Quagsir
Quagsir is a surprisingly powerful Pokémon that really seems to stay away from battle.
It seems he thinks only of puppies and rainbows, and I can only dream of being so happy in life.
The transition from blue to purple makes this innocence incredibly complete. Instead of looking like a derby, he looks cute and derby-like.
And I can understand that.
5. Selebi
Selebi is the only legend on the list. Which is too bad, because I’d like to see a wheel with a purple flame.
Although, anyway, the purple Celebi would be nice.
And do it.
There is also a bright purple goblin in Kohgre, but unlike Kohgre, Chelebi doesn’t look like a giant turnip. That’s ironic, because Chelebi is a head of lettuce with wings that happens to have the power to manipulate time.
And a shiny Sprite is not just a purple spray.
Instead, he actually uses two different shades of purple. This simple choice transforms Celebi from something resembling a rotten vegetable to a mystical fairy more than worthy of its legendary status.
Good luck with one of them.
So far Celebi has not been caught in the main records of the series in the base game. For the few generations where it appears, it can only be captured by mysterious gifts or exclusive in-game events that you can no longer legally use.
We better fire up those ROM robberies, boys.
4. Zoroark
I generally prefer bright blue to purple.
Zoroark is an exception.
This pre-evolution, Zorua, goes from black and red to the more boring brown and blue, which is incredible. Zoroark takes another step forward by going from brown to black and from blue to dark purple.
It’s another case of black and purple suits stealing my heart. But Zoroark is doing better than any other Pokémon so far.
Zoroark is one of the few Pokémon on the list that really had a brilliant version of me, so that might change my mind a little.
In any case, you cannot deny the quality of the brilliant changes. This is a shining example of how Game Freak has become better at creating brilliant versions.
3. Maggo
I was already talking about my love for purple lights, and Magcargo falls under this fireproof umbrella.
Unlike Rapidash, Game Freak didn’t insult me by changing the bright colors in the middle of the series.
We could talk about how the existence of Magcargo should literally put an end to all life on earth, but that’s another topic for another list.
Instead you and I are going to sit here and guess how much nicer a purple lava snail is than an orange snail. I don’t know why this particular transition is working so well, but it is.
2. Grannystar
If you’ve been active in the community during the legendary Twitch game on Pokémon, you’ll know exactly why Grannystar is so great.
Thanks to the will of the Internet, Omanit/Omastar has achieved divinity.
From that moment on, this ancient ammonite was recognized by the God Helix, the father of the bird of Jesus. That sentence alone explains why I love the Pokémon community so much.
In terms of design, the purple Omastar is as beautiful as its blue version, thanks to an old, uninspired and shiny design.
1. Herb
The brilliant Honchcrow is a pimp. There, I said it.
This position cannot be refuted. Look at his dandy hat, see what his jacket looks like.
Of course, with his black color, he looks more like a film noir character. But when she’s purple, she turns into a pimp.
I have no doubt that Game Freak knew exactly what he wanted to do with this design.
They sold me the white scarf he has, the only color that fits both models.
The fact that the purple colour change is fantastic is of minor importance at the moment.
Being a Pokémon Pimp (God, that sounds fake) made for a purpose is enough in itself to place the Honchkrow League and above any other purple chandelier that has been or ever will be made.
