But sometimes I just want to see a character who acts like a ray of sunshine. And there are a number of these characters in the anime.
In this section, we look at all those characters who are always optimistic, always in a good mood and always ready to have fun.
30. Asta
Anime: Black cloverLight front spoiler :
Asta’s hands are badly bruised after that big fight. And he must never fight again.
For someone who has trained all his life, that would be a shocking experience.
And yet, Asta cries to the heavens that even that won’t stop her from reaching the top. He never lets up and always maintains a positive and optimistic attitude.
Especially when it comes to working out, you love your daily dose of push-ups and squats. It’s like he’s stuck in a January fitness rut forever.
29. Bulat
Anime: Akame ga Kill!
Bulat is such a positive person that he almost makes me forget about the creeping death that takes place in the background in almost every episode.
He acts like everyone on Earth is his brother for life (when they’re not villains), and he’s the first to fully accept Tatsumi.
In fact, the man was so good-hearted and cheerful that I quickly started turning him and Tatsumi into all the other female characters. And I don’t even like you!
I think it’s just the power of positive thinking and quirky hair.
28. Shinji and Ryuujiru
Anime: Big Blue
I want to reunite these two brothers because it’s hard to imagine that they could ever be separated.
Above all, they paint an idealistic picture of college, where every day is a celebration and life itself is just a fun roller coaster ride.
They never seem cranky or grumpy, even when they wake up half-naked outside of college.
These two brothers run around doing damage, and they do it with explosives. Every connection meme you’ve ever seen is secretly linked to these two.
27. Mako Mankanshoku
Anime: Death, death, death
I don’t even know if I can describe Mako as a person, because she’s more of a ball of positive energy.
She’s always ready to bounce off the walls, gives full theater performances when explaining the simplest concepts, and is a one-woman support team when her friends are struggling.
This girl seems incapable of hate. And his kind demeanor can soften even a heart of stone. She was honestly one of the key factors that made Kill la Kill so entertaining for me.
26. Aladdin
Anime: Magi: A labyrinth of magic
Aladdin is such a sweet little creature.
You get the impression that he doesn’t mean any harm and just wants to get to know the world and have fun with his friends.
I mean, look at her relationship with Hugo. This is extremely useful. But he can get serious if you pick on his friends.
But even then he will try to solve everything without bloodshed.
Since he is a wizard and has great power, it is his optimistic attitude that keeps the show from getting too dark.
25. Hawk
Anime: The seven deadly sins
I don’t normally care for mascots, but it’s hard not to notice this little piggy.
With all those immortal oxen, demon kings, and corrupt angels slaughtering each other, it’s really refreshing to see what Hawk does.
He always tries to fight the bad guys to protect his friends, but when Mama Hawk comes into the picture, things get serious.
He doesn’t really tend to feel bad, and mostly just buzzes around the main character to cheer him up wherever he goes.
24. Naruto
Anime: Naruto
It’s rarely a surprise to find the optimistic protagonist Shunen.
In fact, you can’t throw a stick without hitting him in the face.
Nonetheless, Naruto stands out a bit. We all know how difficult it must have been to develop and maintain such a positive attitude.
Set up for the swing scene….
But he keeps going, getting shaken up by his friends and his friend ramen, refusing to give up on anyone, even when they almost kill him.
23. Yato
Anime: Noragami
I’m not a religious person. But I like the idea of Yato being a legitimate god.
This guy is like a friend who can make the most mundane tasks incredibly fun with his antics.
He’s a little troll at heart, and has enough energy to run a small town.
No matter how bad things got, he always came out on top and had fun with his friends.
And don’t get me started on his work ethic and advertising skills, they speak for themselves.
22. Chimney
Anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Kamina is the kind of man who doesn’t get excited about his own funeral.
He is so charismatic and energetic that a few minutes of conversation with him feels like a motivational TedTalk.
He truly believes in all his friends and even makes them believe in themselves.
These qualities enabled the man to raise an entire army, although he may have fallen short in other areas. Because in the dark and gloomy world of Gurren Lagann, everyone needed someone to shine a bright light and show the way. And no one can do it better than Kamina.
21. Ritsu Tainaka
Anime: But!
Honestly, almost anyone on the main roster could make this list. But I think the drummer should be called the merriest. You got it? How is the rhythm of the song? It’s worth a try.
The combination of Ritsu and Yu always makes me laugh, especially when the menacing English exam begins.
But Ritsu is also very nice on his own.
She reminds me of a simpler time when pranks were useful and fun, and her continued dedication to living with the people around her is just amazing.
20. Minori Kushieda
Anime: Toradora!
A little spoiler warning:
If it weren’t for the fact that I have a soft spot for Tsunderes and Taiga is a precious little ball of mixed emotions, I’d be so pissed that Minori isn’t the best girl.
The series is a drama, so we see Minori fall from time to time. But most of all, it looks like an uninterrupted flow of positive energy.
She’s athletic, friendly, funny, strangely profound, and a person you can’t hate.
19. Good luck with Volt
Anime: Black Clover
Luck is an outlier on this list because he technically meets all the criteria, but not for the same reasons as most other characters.
This man is literally always smiling. And since he uses lightning magic, you can imagine he won’t stay in one place for long.
However, his cheerful nature comes from a somewhat twisted background, as he just loves to fight.
He shows all his emotions through his fists, so I think that helps a lot in the grand scheme of things. The bromance between him and Magna is also excellent.
18. Kafuka Fuura
Anime: Sayonara, Zetsubu-sensei…
Kafuka and Zetsubu-sensei are like yin and yang.
While Zetsubu is constantly trying to bring himself down and wallow in his own despair, Kafuka sees everything as a positive turn of events.
I know I often use hyperbole, but this time I mean it. Kafuka is optimism and pure pleasure.
Even when confronted with a man who hanged himself, she twists the story and realizes that the man just wants to be superior. Then she gives him a funny nickname and continues on her way, still happy as a clam.
17. Koro-sensei
Anime: Study
Contrary to what you might have thought with my last selection, not all teacher characters are depressed.
Koro-sensei, for example, has such a great smile that you almost forget he’s a threat to the world.
And even though he teaches a class of murderers, this man is the best father anyone could want. He always preaches positivity, acceptance and self-love.
Even though he depressed me towards the end of the series, he’s still a very optimistic character.
16. Miss Joke
Anime: My heroic academy
It should not be a symbol of peace. But with a title like Smile Hero, she’s more than qualified to be here.
We haven’t seen much of her. But even her brief appearance in the hero’s license arc was enough for me to fall in love with her. She is the perfect contrast to Eraserhead because she is always smiling and having fun.
Even her stubbornness reflects her cheerful attitude, as she frightens those around her with her presence alone.
15. Naru Kotoishi
Anime: Baracamon
Naru is the kind of character you would want to have a baby with, because she is happy and healthy.
She has shown that she can turn even the most cynical person into a calm and happy person. And Naru turned from a bowling ball thrown out of the house into an inspiration to us all.
And I can understand that, honestly.
There is something about his energetic and optimistic outlook on life that is so infectious you can never resist it.
14. Isaac and Miria
Anime: Baccano!
We have another dynamic duo, and man, are they dynamic.
Although they’re technically criminals, Isaac and Miria seem like the kindest and craziest characters you’ll ever meet.
They constantly bump into each other and never seem to be in a bad mood, no matter how difficult their situation is.
I think since they’ve been together, the world can’t be so dark or depressing anymore. And that’s a good thing.
13. Toru Honda
Anime: Fruit basket
Toru just has that useful, silly energy that we all know and love.
Being in a rather unusual situation, with guys turning around and all, she constantly seems a bit confused, but excited at the same time.
And because she is usually with Suma, the hot-headed cat, Toru is usually peaceful, like a Buddhist monk.
Even though her story is far from perfect, she still manages to move on and help others. What a rice ball.
12. Edward Wong Howe Pepelu Tivroux IV
Anime: Cowboy Bebop.
Ed is such a free spirit that I often forget she’s on the show.
I’m not saying I don’t notice it, I’m saying it’s so energetic, fun and upbeat that I think of it as my own little show in Cowboy Bebop.
And while she is a certified genius and a world-class hacker, she prefers to do things the fun (and usually crazy) way.
Honestly, we all need a little Ed in our lives. I mean, look at the name she gave herself.
11. Akari Mizunashi
Anime: Aria Origin
In the Aria series, the main goal is to become a professional gondolier guide.
On the face of it, Akari should be out of luck. She knows very little about the history of the city for which she is running, and has learned to row backwards over it.
And yet, his attitude is enough to turn the tables.
She is so friendly and exudes such intensity that complete strangers quickly fall in love with her.
Although the style is odd and the facts of the story questionable, the experience is entertaining.
10. Naotsugu
Anime: Ball Horizon
Naotsugu is a man of culture. He’s only interested in two things in life: Debauchery and eating.
And as long as these two are present in his life, he is happy.
Even if he gets punched in the face every time he declares his love to a debaucher, it won’t stop him from doing it again.
Out of all the characters in the series, he’s the one who got through the Isekai thing the best. And quickly settled into his new life. As a result, this boundary tank raises the morale of everyone it comes into contact with.
9. May be of type
Anime: Naruto! Shippuden
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
Guy/Lee makes much better characters than Naruto.
This is because they had bad luck in life, but managed to reach the top with a lot of effort. No prophecy or demonic powers, just elbow work and a mentality so positive it should be considered kekkei genkai.
With their 2-ton legs, they constantly crash into walls, which barely slow them down as they chase down unsuspecting opponents and take advantage of the power of youth.
8. Sasha’s blouse
Anime: Attack on Titan.
At first glance, Sasha might seem a little odd for this list, as she’s not as consistent as the other characters mentioned here.
But his attitude remains very impressive.
Despite the fact that humanity is at stake and it seems like the whole world is against our heroes, Sasha still manages to keep smiling.
Mainly because someone offered him food, of course.
But among all the heartbreaking, cold, and possibly crazy characters attacking Titan, we have to appreciate the ray of sunshine that is Sasha.
7. Suma Yukihira
Anime: The food of war!
He’s another Shunen protagonist, so you already know what to do!
Suma is the kind of man who puts his friends and his work above all else.
He loves to prepare dishes for those he loves, that is, all those he has seen more than once. And he uses his precepts both to convey his feelings and to raise the morale of those he serves.
Although it’s a cliché, the secret ingredient seems to be love. Or some kind of aphrodisiac, judging by people’s reactions.
6. Happy
Anime: Fairy Tail
That’s literally his name. I can’t pass up this opportunity!
Like Hawk, Happy is also the mascot of the series. And as such, it usually brings with it all the scorn and con.
He’s always there to be Natsu’s stooge. And never miss an opportunity, monsieur, when an adventure presents itself to the protagonists.
Later, it will even have a female counterpart, creating another duo of positivity and brand marketing.
5. Rimuru Storm
Anime: Then I was reincarnated as a slime.
It’s no secret that Rimuru is pretty broken. If they are friends with the dragon and everything ….
But I think his attitude is even more important to the growth of his empire.
Rimuru is just a good person who wants others to be happy. They do not abuse their power or strive for fame, but elevate others to create a place of peace for all who struggle.
And when it’s not business, Rimuru is content to hang out, socialize with the townspeople, and occasionally slip away for an obscene kindness.
4. Goku
Anime: Dragon Ball Z
Goku is so optimistic and cheerful, it gets annoying sometimes.
Yeah, Vegeta, I’m partial to you.
I mean, Goku refuses to abuse his power. And treats even the biggest villains as human beings.
He would never have taken the opportunity to kill a wounded villain, no matter how much harm he had done. In fact, it will probably help you heal so that your fight is fair and just.
Every time Vegeta screams and threatens to blow up the planet, Goku has a casual conversation with the villain and saves the cat from the tree.
3. Popura Taneshima
Anime: It works!
Even in the most toxic work environment, it would be a pleasure to have Popura as a colleague.
It may be very short, but don’t be fooled! She’s almost grown up!
But don’t be fooled by that last comment either, she still acts like a child.
And it’s absolutely fascinating.
Her little psychos when someone teases her about her height, or her determination to be a valued employee, or her extreme pats on the head….. You literally cannot feel the negativity around them.
2. Tsukasa Hiragi
Anime: A good star
With the Hiragi sisters, we come back to the yin-yang situation.
Knowing that Tsukasa’s twin sister is an eternity away, you can already get an idea of what Tsukasa is like.
There is something meditative about looking at this figure.
She’s never angry, and she seems to be vibrating at every moment.
She may not be the brightest, and her sleep schedule isn’t exactly conducive to her school performance, but she seems happy. And that makes me happy.
1. Mirio Togata
Anime: My heroic academy
Mirio is one of my favorite anime characters.
He’s such a strange mix of crazy and mean that you can’t help but love him.
One episode he destroys countless enemies to save a man, and the next he’s hauling ass out of the bushes to play the strangest game of peekaboo.
Even when all else fails and life itself has given him an L, Mirio continues to smile. Because, as Night-Eye said, a society without fun and humor will not have a good future.
