The quickest way to rise in rank as a commander in Rise of Kingdoms is to build forts, kill barbarians and guards, participate in events, upgrade your VIP status and challenge yourself in Expedition Mode – more on that later.

Work on your VIP level
Upgrading to VIP status can help you upgrade your commanders quickly.
At a high VIP level, you have more experience books because you have a better VIP box.
Most players use their gems to increase their VIP status.
A high VIP status is not only advantageous in one respect, but also for acquiring golden keys, as well as star sculptures and commanders.
You’ll need all of those to upgrade your commanders when the time comes.
Kill guards and barbarians
Killing barbarians and guards is a great way to improve your commanders.
Lochar and Ethelflaed are great commanders in the fight against barbarians.
With Lochar and Ethelflaed in charge, the damage to the barbarians would be extreme.
By using these two commanders, you also reduce the cost of the action points needed to kill the barbarians.
If you are at commander level, you can obtain gems by killing barbarians as you progress in your training.
If you want to maximize this, make sure you attack during KVK.
While you’re at it, you can find a rune to increase your experience level and commander level in Rise of Kingdoms.
If you want to kill guards, target the guards in zone 3 during the KVK.
Make sure you have all the peace commanders before you attack the guards.

Destroy forts
The fastest way to rank your commander by destroying forts.
To destroy more forts, you need to be part of an active alliance.
You also have a chance to earn 50 action points every time you destroy a fortress.
Boudica and Aethelflaed are the best commanders when players destroy forts.
Forts are the hardest buildings to upgrade, and destroying them gets you alliance books.
Acquire one command at a time
If you try to level too many commanders at once, your attention will be divided.
With subtle attention, hinder your ability to succeed in expedition mode, participate in important events and fight stronger barbarians.
You must always remember that a high-ranking commander has more power.
A high-ranking commander can easily face stronger opponents and quickly dominate them.
With a commander, you get more experience and more rewards when fighting tougher enemies.
