The main theme of Cottage is a common thread throughout the Animal Crossing community, and many players decorate their island in the most magical way possible.
If you’ve already seen some of these islands and wanted to try this aesthetic out for yourself but didn’t know how, read on!
I’ve got some really great cottage designs for you, and even a little taste of how you can recreate them yourself.
30. Mush River
If you want to sit back and relax, is there anything better than sitting on a giant mushroom cloud by the river?
This sweet little island gives me all the thrills.
You can do the same: Collect your favorite patterns for the village paths and spread them around the neighborhood. They don’t even have to be in any particular order.
Add a few small clumps of hedges and flowers placed around the area.
And don’t forget the giant mushroom and of course the famous mushroom lamps.
29. Heart of the forest road
This little nook of a house is the perfect addition to the herbs in your driveways!
All you need is your favorite personal path that leaves a small circular lawn in the middle.
Place a few bushes in the middle with a bouquet of flowers to color.
They even added some star fragments in this area to make it look special.
It’s such an easy way to add character to the corner of your island. Every villager wants to wake up in this part of town.
28. Dining room with porridge
I love this little dinette, from the mushroom-shaped chairs to the scattered bits of leaves.
And it’s pretty easy to do too!
All you need is a small stone to work with. Add your favorite slope and a custom wood floor.
Then add an ironwood kitchenette to match the atmosphere, though you’ll need a DIY cutting board for this.
Now just turn the chimney back and you have a handy little shelf!
Finally, add a few trees and plants to complete the space.
27. Rock Road
This nature walk is an ideal idea if you have a small space on your island and you don’t really know what to do with it.
All you need is a custom design for certain steps and stones to create the path.
Add a row of cedar and deciduous trees scattered about, and you can also plant a few flowering shrubs.
Of course you need a small wooden sign to show the islanders the right direction. You can also decorate this room with prison bars.
End your outing with a nice stopover in case anyone needs a well-deserved break during a walk in the woods.
26. Flower presses
This beautiful place is a flower lover’s dream.
If you want to make your own flower rocks, here’s how!
Start by creating different levels of rocks and add waterfalls where it makes sense.

Finally, add lots of pieces of wood and your favorite chairs so you can sit and reflect on your creation.
25. Concealed pendant
This cabin stay is the best leisure space. Invite your friends over for some much needed conversation in this charming little hidden corner.
You can make it by adding a slanted step that leads to the sunken room, then adding custom tile patterns for your floor.
You can add a set of wooden furniture and a bunch of books to start decorating.
Surround the area with tons of yellow and white flowers. You can then add some wedding candles to give it a really warm look.
I can’t help but notice the wedding cake on the table. The colors fit the theme perfectly. Who doesn’t like cake?
24. Bridge over forest

This beautiful drawing looks like it came from a postcard. With its winding rivers and waterfalls, it would be an asset to any island.
You can create this masterpiece by simply terraforming a few cliffs and placing waterfalls over them.
Meet all the waterfalls together in the river that flows through your island.
Fill the rest of the area with a mixture of cedar and hardwoods and install a wooden bridge over the main rocks connecting them.
Complete the look by adding a few plants and rustic items. And don’t forget to bring a bike for spontaneous rides in the woods.
23. Agriculture

21. Stone Arch
This design is super simple to make, but it looks incredibly complex!
It’s a great idea to fill in the small spaces on your island.
You can get this view by placing a stone arch between the two rocks. Make sure you have a meandering waterfall running down the cliff to tie it all together.

Top it off with shrubs, wooden furniture and piles of leaves and you have the perfect drop zone.
